Get Sam some help. He'll be fine. The biggest downside to losing out on the #1 pick to me is that it takes the chance for "the haul" of multiple 1st round picks off the table. That to me was the fastest/surest/best path to a big time Jets rebuild. Now JD is going to have to work for it.
My answer is based on the assumption that we don't get #1 and Lawrence. If it's a choice between Sam and Fields, easily I stick with Sam. I want to see if Darnold can play like he did today over the next 2 games. If he can, I say keep him, maybe restructure his contract, and draft a QB like Wilson to compete with him. Worst case is that Darnold beats him out this year and Wilson gets to sit and learn. If Darnold reverts to form over these last two games, draft Wilson and trade for a vet to compete with him.
You roll with Darnold. No way do I want a Big Ten QB. Take the tackle from Oregon and take some offensive players. Sewell and Becton you can block out the sun.
Baffled. So the eight total INT's In his ENTIRE career, is enough to determine that Fields Is bad for a lot of you? 68.9 Completion Percentage.. That doesn't matter. 178.9 Overall rating.. 60 TD's to 8 INT all time.. I just feel like some of ya'll need to stop watching small samples of things, and then trying to conclude your big picture on that small sample. It's just confusing. He's still a fantastic talent. It's baffling.
Since we're out of the TLaw sweepstakes, why not trade back in the 1st round and draft Wilson as a back up to Sam. Morgan evidently isn't good enough to suit up according to the Genius Adam Gase..
Yeah it'd REALLY be nice to see Darnold wake up and turn in 2 more solid games to end the year. I've had faith in him all along even though I'll admit it wavered a little over the last few weeks. I'm kind of excited now. Sewell is freaking awesome and the Jets have pick 26ish and 34ish to add hopefully a couple really solid pieces as well. Guard, RB, and another WR plus those tackles and your in business if you can hire the right coach (I think).
Ok.. Let's go with that. How does he play? I keep hearing people complain but I'm not hearing reasons on why, other than, he had two bad games. So, what about the way that he plays? I would love to discuss those things that people seem to think make him not worth being drafted all of a sudden?
hahaha dude, I was gonna post someting similar a few times but I have no gusto after today. Yes, 99% of teh anti-Fields group have absolutely no idea what theyre talking about.
he has NO idea how he plays. Im a OSU fan like you and have seen every hame hes played like you. These other guys have probably never seen him play once
OSU has a long history of producing QB's who are outstanding in college and then flame out in the NFL. Haskins, Jones, Troy Smith, Pryor, Braxton Miller,JT Barrett. I can't explain why that is but it can't be denied. I'd rather give Darnold another year with Douglas' pick for coach and improved talent around him.
