You trade him for whatever you can get. It’s unfortunate that it’s come to this with Darnold but too many bad decisions since he was drafted have led to this shitty outcome. We can only hope that better decisions are made with Trevor. It’s a start to pair him with a HC on same timeline at least.
I’d prefer to keep San as backup but it doesn’t make any sense either contract-wise or in regard to potential draft picks. Sign a veteran clipboard-holder that would genuinely invest in our new QB and trade Sam.
I have to do more scouting on the class personally. But I remember when we drafted sam and While i loved sam I wasn't high on rosen or baker and i really liked josh allen and lamaar jackson and everyone said I was dumb for liking those 2 over rosen and mayfield yet here we are josh allen is an MVP candidate and taking the bills to the playoffs. jackson won MVP last year and is going to the playoffs for the 2nd time. baker is struggling in cleveland but has a good team around him and rosen is out of the league.
Possibly, but he’d have to know his time was up. He didn’t react great to the benching for Tua a few weeks ago. He’d be a smart guy to be around though.
Absolutely and I’m sorry to say after Magic Mike and Gase Hiring does anyone here feel confident that the Johnson brothers will make the right decision in hiring a coach?? I don’t
Again it all depends on who we get as a coach/coaches Will Lawrence benefit more from sitting like Mahomes or not? Being thrown into the mix early hasn't worked in the long run for a lot of promising guys recently, even the ones that started off really well, Wentz and Goff for example.
he did react great. he was shocked and upset but he's still there helping tua. Of course we would tell him the same thing. he's likely gonna back up tlaw and maybe start early in the season. it's up to him whether he wants to chase a starting job or be willing to mentor a rookie as a back-up
a lot depends on the trade market. if people are offering small potatoes, e.g, 5th round, i say keep him yes i know of the adage if you have 2 starters you have no starters but i also know our history of starting rookie QBs isn't good. indeed many teams have had issues with this (Cincinatti being recent) if the options are meager i can see him starting the year until the new guy takes over.
I chose "Other", mainly because what I'd do is conditional on the return they could get for Darnold. If I could get a 2nd, or a high 3rd and another lower pick, something on that level, I'd trade him. But if I couldn't get that value, I'd keep him for next year and let him compete with Lawrence, and assuming Darnold showed enough, I'd let him start for half the season at least to let Lawrence get acclimated to the speed of the pro game.
I dont know much about Zach Wilson but suddenly he has been getting a lot of hype. I look forward to reading your impression of him.
