Out of all the teams you named, ATL would be my choice. Warm weather team playing in a dome. In the brave new interconnected world, NY isn't the only place to garner endorsements anymore. You can get plenty of recognition playing other places. Not playing in NY hasn't hurt anyone. There really isn't a media center anymore as its far most distributed than any other time in history.

Jets are one of the better situations there has been for a number one pick. Trevor Lawrence will play for the Jets if they take care of business and lose the next 3 games like they should.

This narrative that the Jets are a hopeless disaster all goes away the second the number 1 pick is locked up and Adam Gase is fired.

The talk becomes how they are a young up & coming team headed in the right direction once that happens.

If the Jets win Week 17 and lose the top pick, Douglas should be fired along with Gase for either not understanding why losing is so important or not having the stones to do whatever it takes to ensure the Jets lose.

If the Jets pull any crap with starters, the NFL might get involved. They could dock the Jets a #3 or #2 pick or something. Goodell could ORDER the Jets to start some guys.

Even with how much I can't stand ownership and the lack of faith I have in them--I don't see how if the Jets and Jags are still 1 game apart in week 17 that you don't make "business decisions" to ensure we lose that game.

Even if the only thing the Johnson's care about is the bottom line, it still would be completely bonkers to go for a win the last game and miss out on a generational talent.

I am hoping that the Jags win a game, but I don't see it happening vs. the Ravens or away vs. the Bears. Both are playing for the playoffs.

Plain and simple--start Morgan or White. Easy.

If need be start them vs. the Browns so it doesn't look so bad. Most likely Sam's going to be atrocious vs the Rams--there's your excuse.

If the price is losing a second or third round pick, it's worth it. Also I can't see Goodell punishing the Jets for sitting starters if the Patriots are also sitting starters. And if the Patriots aren't sitting starters, there's no way we're winning that game.

Game plan: Braden Mann. Every play. Takes the snap, punts it through the back of the end zone for a safety. Repeat for 4 Quarters. If you think about it, it is actually not much worse than an actual Gase offensive game plan.

I disagree. I don't think there is any way if he can help it that Belichick is going to have it on his record that he lost to an 0-15 team, especially when that team is the Jets. He is not afraid of Lawrence or any other QB. Also, if there is any hint that he threw the game to keep the Jets from getting Lawrence, that would make him look like he was afraid of the Jets and a pussy. That's not going to happen imo.

I disagree. There's no way that Douglas is sticking with Sam and basing his career on Sam. That would be career suicide and he knows it.

Sam wasn't a JD pick anyway so there's no real connection there.

Been thinking this lately too. I don't care if it's obvious we're tanking, the NFL isn't going to take the #1 pick from us for intentionally losing one game. Bench the starters, tell the coaches to take the day off, have Quinnen call plays on offense, whatever it takes. I'm not at all above JD paying some coaches or players under the table to underperform. We'd probably get banned from the NFL if anyone found out but if it can be done safely I'm all for it.

Starting the season 0-15 just to lose the #1 pick in the final game would be too painful to bear. Do whatever it takes to bring the pick home for good.

There were also a number of other improvements to the Bucs besides Brady. They added Joe Haeg in FA and Tristan Wirfs in the draft. Those were huge additions to their OL. They also added Gronk and subtracted an interception machine. In the draft, in addition to Wirfs, they added Safety Antoine Winfield, RB Ke'Shawn Vaughn, WR Tyler Johnson, LB Chappelle Russell, and RB Raymond Calais. Aside from Perriman, AFAIK they didn't really lose anyone in FA that was that good.

No. I totally disagree. I think paranoia has set in. I understand, but still think it's all fear-based reasoning.

He could even announce his retirement at the end of this season for all we know, or plan to retire at 70. The last thing we need to worry about is the future and BB fearing Lawrence.

How many QBs has Douglas drafted that have been ruined? How many QBs has the new HC developed or failed to develop. Those are the ONLY things that matter. What Mac and Bowles or Gase did is totally freaking irrelevant.

Atlanta will have a new GM and HC. Who knows how good that GM will be? Atlanta also has a quality veteran QB that could start for another year or two. Would Lawrence want to risk having to sit for a year or two? Would he want to risk playing on a team where the new GM may not draft well and the team could continue going backwards?

He will know that JD has already had a really good draft and that he is a former OL and has promised to fix the OL. He will know that the Jets have already hit rock bottom and there's no way to go but up, and that he will be a real star and hero if he helps the Jets become winners.

I totally disagree. Any talk of firing Douglas outside of his committing murder or some major crime is insane.

Sorry, but that's utter nonsense! JD and the new HC have ZERO history with drafting and developing a QB together. It doesn't matter one whit what previous GMs and HCs of the Jets have done. That's totally irrational thinking.
