Studs Marcus Maye - overall was great in coverage. just seemed to be everywhere. that 1 handed INT in the endzone was pretty amazing Berrios - only 3 catches for 49 yards but they were big catches to keep drives going. he had a really good game with the chances he was given Hewitt - quietly has had a really good season for us. 9 tackles 2 TFL and has passed a 100 tackle season for the 1st time in his career foley - 2 tackles both for a loss and a sack. he was wreaking havoc on the o-line all game Ballentine - the best looking KR we've had since letting andre roberts walk. had a couple of good returns Becton - continues his pro bowl like season shutting down the other teams pass rush and opening holes in the run game O-line - as a whole sam had good pass protection this game. Run blocking is still an issue Duds Adam gase - 3 points against a bottom 3 defense? the broncos scored 3 points playing a WR at QB. playcalling is awful. the overusage of gore is insane. that 1 screen to gore he is so slow he barely got a 1st. ty johnson would have gotten a huge chunk out of that play. he's just so awful Frank bush - we fired GW who was actually working wonders with our lack of talent defense and then we allow 30 points alone in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. 40 on the game but they let off the gas at the end and sat wilson and other starters. our D looked much worse then it did under GW especially the run D. gase cut off his nose to spite his face on this one. but it's good for the tank Sam Darnold - not all his fault. playcalling was atrocious as usual. but he had 3 dropped INTs although 1 was batted up the other 2 were just awful throws by sam. he looks defeated and shell shocked back there. he needs a change of scenery badly Bless austin - celebrates a 3rd down stop by taunting and giving them a free 1st down. what an idiot The refs - not the reason we lost. we were gonna lose no matter what, but the refs were god awful. so many BS penalties on our D and they didn't call any of the clear penalties on the seahawks Frank gore - looks old and done. 2.9YPC and had a fumble early in the game Perriman - garbage. he's what people accused robby of being. a 1 trick deep pony who does nothing else good. meanwhile robby is on pace for over 100 catches and over 1200 yards. he's 4 yards away from his 1st 1k season with 3 games to go. Castillo - 1 for 4 on FGs. was just awful. Mann - had a bad day punting. averaged under 40 a punt on 5 punts. EDIT: For those saying the o-line wasn't good in pass protection, I went back and watched the 1st half again and kept track of pressure rate. I didn't bother for the 2nd half because we only ran plays not including when we ran out the clock with 4 mins left in the game. Drop backs 22 total 1 sack 1 coverage sack (sam ran OOB could have thrown it away) 2 pressures (1 free blitzer but he got the pass off and converted 3rd down, 1 on a screen pass where it was intentional pressure which was also completed for a 1st down) 19 plays with no pressure, 18 of which were thrown to WRs, 1 of which sam danced around for a while and threw it away with nobody open so really I only see 2 actual pressures on sam 1 was a free blitzer not on the o-line and 1 where he was sacked. that's a really strong showing for the o-line
I’d really like someone to ask Gase about Gore in a presser (if they haven’t already). They have a Goreless game too look at now and the results were significantly better without him so what, exactly, is his thought process?
mcgovern has been really good lately and signed for a few years. we need OGs more then OC. fant is fine at RT and under contract for a couple of years. hopefully clark can be a good OG. we need to draft some lineman to develop as well but with later picks.
Gase is bad and his playcalling can be terrible. In fact some of the plays in our playbook aren't just terrible - their stupid. But we cant blame him for our kicker repeatedly missing easy FGs. Its not his fault we only scored 3 points. We can either blame him, or thank him, for playing Gore. Fans act like they are afraid of winning a game and then rant that we are playing Gore. Playing Gore is clearly a tank move. But then again Johnson, who was last weeks star, had the same number of carries as Gore and averaged a yard less per carry. Why would Gore get on the duds list over him? Don't agree with the o-line being studs. Terrible run blocking and spotty pass protection against a sub par D-line. They are a very mediocre o-line. Sam should have been pulled the same time Wilson was, but for the opposite reason. He played like a zombie and I don't think he is even going through his progressions anymore. Clearly he cant wait for this season to be over. Broken QB. Oh ya - STUD - Jamal Adams - for setting the single season sack record for DBs in only 9 games, and for getting us 2 ones and a third.
no it's not his fault we only scored 3 but it is his fault we only could have scored 12 at most and 0 TDs. it's also his fault we had pretty much negative yards in the 2nd half and not even a FG attempt. he can't make a halftime adjustment. we had negative yards on 6 plays for the 3rd quarter yet again (2, 3 and outs) we are the worst 3rd quarter team in the NFL by far because he can't make an adjustment
I think the Jets will go hard at Thuney and consider taking another guard with their 2nd or 3rd pick.
Yep. You know what is weird. We are currently leading the league in scoring points on the first drive of the game. These are clearly scripted drives so he comes in with a decent plan. After that he is useless. Its a wonder of contradiction that only the best crummy coaches can achieve.
Hard to argue with any of the studs and duds....except I didn’t see the OL as studs. I’d have to go back and watch that disaster, but just off memory, I remember a ton of pressure, and a lot of pressure up the middle. I thought the OL played poorly. also...for the life of me I can’t understand why we keep running Gore out there. It literally makes no sense at all.
This was the worst protection in weeks - not that it has been great, but it had been improving, but yesterday was like a turnstile.
My #1 Dud was Perriman. He drives me nuts. What a disappointment. Such a downgrade from Robby and I truly thought he would be an upgrade. Some people have talked about him being on the roster in 2021 as a #4 WR. I say let him go elsewhere. I feel like his effort is not close to 100%. A rare mistake by Douglas, but also one that I supported at the time.
What's your problem with Perriman? He's a very tough cover--I don't see him as a problem at all--what am I missing? And please consider he's as much of a victim of DisGrASE offense as anyone.
he sucks. all he can do is stretch the field. he never fights for the ball or makes catches in traffic and drops too many. sams completion rate towards perriman is awful even compared to scrubs like berrios, jeff smith, and chris hogan.
He looked good with Flacco at QB, but he and Sam just have not connected at all. I just feel he doesn't make the plays for his QB. Some drops, not fighting for the ball, etc. The effort is not there.
He can tank to his hearts content if that’s what you think he’s doing. That doesn’t excuse him from being asked a valid question.
