I really don't understand how the coaches face Josh Adams and Ty Johnson every week in the meeting room. Ty Johnson looked fantastic catching the ball on the opening drive and they come back to a screen to Gore. He has SEVEN carries already. It's really mind-blowing. I can harp on it all day because it's unbelievable.
Seriously, as if potentially going winless wasn’t bad enough. Now we get future killing wins. So jets
Yes, but now Gore has something to build on -- wins and confidence -- which will help us win games in 2021, 2022, and 2023. This win, though painful, will help Frank Gore the rest of his career.
Gore is out for week 17 with a lung contusion. I never root for injuries, but Gore's play didn't warrant the workload he got.
I hate to say this, but it looks to me like this whole season was to get him to 16k yards. He got there, that’s it. Cman and I were talking about this in the game thread. It probably was in his contract that he get X carries per game, judging from his absence in the 3rd and 4th quarters most games. So, yeah...garbage time for Gore and fuck Gase for even doing that to our young RBs that showed some promise. This whole season was fucked.
So the Gore/Gase thing is probably dead on. Gase needed a vet in the locker room who would not quit on him and would work hard till the end of the season come what may and Gore was that guy. I'm of two minds on Gore taking carries from Perine and the other young backs. The first thought is that playing Gore really screwed over the development of other actually relevant players the Jets will need next season. Then the reality that what he did was probably to save some tread on the tires of the young guys intrudes and I think maybe it was not such a bad thing to not give Perine 250 carries this year. And then I think Gore screwed us out of Lawrence and everything goes red.
If the Jets used any other RB besides Frank Gore and ran left behind Becton they probably would have won 5-6 games.
The way he walked into the tunnel indicated he was done once he got his yardage mark regardless of any injury. What a douchebag.
The image of him celebrating that conversion at the end of the Rams game will be forever burned into my memory. Felt like my girlfriend just broke up with me and there's Frank celebrating like he just won the lotto.
