The scariest thing about this race to the bottom is that we're racing against a team that has no chance to win another game. Any error we make will cost us the #1 pick and the Jets never seem to do anything right.
Absolutely, we probably get smashed against the Rams and Browns too, but so will Jax against the Ravens and likely the Bears. It may well come down to SOS if we beat the Pats in week 17, which right now would give them #1.
After we lose against the Rams, ownership should mandate starting Morgan to secure the top pick. Not worried about the Rams game but Browns and Pats games scare me.
I said this months ago..... Marrone and Khan's son are very tight. The only negative that I can see is that Jax won their season opener against Indy.
The Browns have a good pass rush that will collapse this garbage Oline with ease and their O will score the plenty of points. The Pats with their backup Qb is the real test. Its a shame that the Jags are so putrid that we can’t even rely on them to win another game. I wonder if there has even been a 1-15 and a 0-16 team in the same season before.
Minshew is healthy and isn't Jacksonville still starting Glennon? I don't see the league doing anything about that.
Anybody here think Doug Marrone -- sabotaged from getting the NYJ HC job -- wants to get that #1 overall pick especially if the Khan's have told him he's coming back next year ?
They didn't. He was hurt. I don't know why he didn't play this week but it was probably because Glennon's played fine. They're going to gut that entire team and coaching staff anyways though.
If Minshew plays, the Jags have an outside shot against the Bears. And in Week 17, the Colts could rest their starters and even lose on purpose if their playoff spot is already locked up.
To be fair, except for today, the Jags have been in some tight, winnable games in several Glennon starts, so why would the league want to step in? And as much as fans want Morgan to get some week 17 action to ensure the loss, it'd be pretty lousy thing to do that to the players who obviously want to win a game (hold your jokes). Yeah, we can argue that Darnold starting lately hasn't helped in that regard, but Flacco has had us in some games.
The Browns should be able to run all over us and Baker has been great in their last couple games. Their D isn't great but it's on par with Seattle and definitely better than LV. I'm worried going into any game at this point but on paper they should destroy us.
