No my point was pretty much what @ColoradoContrails said. To be 0-16 you have to be catastrophically bad and have layers of dysfunction at all levels. One game doesn't make a massive difference here or there. It's what that duck egg in the win column represents in terms of how historically bad you are that is more important. And of course there's a very small sample size. That's kind of the point.
Would I rather be 1-15, and not go down in history as a winless team? Sure. Would I risk losing Trevor Lawrence to not go winless? Absolutely not.
It was this that I was replying to Just a little different from what you just said So if we go 0 wins we are not going to be successful for a generation is what you imply and that is what I was debunking in my original reply. And of course, it is a small sample size, hence why it isn't a good stat to go off.
I'm not quite sure what you are saying. but if it's that I shouldn't be a party pooper, then you are right. The Jets have been plagued by pessimism and negativity for a long as I have been a fan So I do hope we get Lawrence and I hope it works out for the best
It would be bother me, I mean going 0-16 is for terrible franchises like the Browns and Lions and Jets are not as bad as the Browns and Lions
I didn't say any of that, but then you already know that. You obviously just want to be pessimistic and irrational. Carry on.
I'm not sure why you're so disillusioned that this 0-16 team is better than others. The Browns had a couple nice pieces too. Myles Garrett, Joe Schobert, Joel Bitonio and even Duke Johnson looked like he could be a player. The Lions had Kevin Smith who looked like a legit NFL runningback and HOFer Calvin Johnson. We have a couple guys who look to be solid NFL starters. We're just as much of a disaster as teams. We just watch them every week and are hopeful fans.
What would REALLY set me off would be to go 0-16 and these imbecile owners roll one more season with Gase.. That would be the biggest FUCK ALL OF YOU ever...
I’d really like for Jax to win one more, and then beat ne and go 1-15. Not likely, so 0-16 can be gase’ legacy and follow him for the rest of time.
This is how I feel too... as crazy as it sounds best case scenario would be the Jags win another game with a little Minshew Magic and we beat the pats to go 1-15 and draft Lawrence.
little surprised at how many folks would like to avoid 0-16......the dislike for the johnsons seems to be clear so why not have them have to live with a 0-16 gem. i want the 0-16. they deserve it. and the prior GM's deserve it. the organization deserves it. yes the players shouldn't have to deal with it but have no fear, they still get paid.
We are beyond bad. We have a GM that can not find a fg kicker who can kick a 40 yd fg, We have Adam Gase running Frank Gore. We have Geno Smith of all people, coming out and rubbing it in our faces Everybody in the Jets organization needs to go. A new gm with his coach and staff. JD has done nothing great to show that he has the ability to turn this around. Many GMs in the league have made better trades and drafted better players since JD has taken over. He might be at best a middle of the road gm, with the pedigree of an 0-16 season and possibly worst team ever in his resume. This team is so destroyed by JD and Gase even if Trevor is all that people think he can be , We will waste it. I do not trust JD in the rebuild. He has done nothing merit it. JD and Gase have made me long for the SOJ.
I don't agree with this. But I don't think he's done anything yet to be anointed either. But either way. Prepare for the wrath dude.
0-16 doesn’t bother me. In fact, I am rooting for it. Trevor Lawrence is the obvious reason, but I also think 0-16 could be the bitter pill that the Johnson’s need to swallow in order to see they don’t know what they are doing and must remove themselves when the franchise is making decisions.
The Patsies are bad - really bad. Tebow 2.0 running their offense. No defensive front seven to speak of. They will be playing for exactly what we are playing for. I absolutely do think the Jets can win that game. Otoh the Jags suck really bad too. I don't know where the win is in their schedule. It will be yet another ironic twist if Hoodie loses to the Jets and knocks them out of the#1 pick. SOJ...
