I went through 6 pages and didn’t see a thread dedicated to this cause. While the sentiment has been echoed in thousands of unique posts, never before have we taken this singular stance. It is THE OFFICIAL
    Fire the Johnsons! Thread.

    I’ll start.
You boys are lucky to get to breakfast every morning without the help of your nanny. Why don’t you two step aside and let real entrepreneurs, leaders and businesspeople take over? Or just ask the Nanny for help?

    Thanks

Isn't there some sort of stipulation that people owning NFL franchises need to be somehow fit for the role? These two have proved they know absolutely nothing about football. Woody thinks you bring in over-the-hill QBs like Favre, or sign players like Tebow for PR purposes. God alone knows what his brother thinks. But we've had over-priced over-the-hill vets coming here for years. Stop-gap one-year deals all over the field. No plan whatsoever for long-term team building. The Jets look like a team that has been assembled from everyone else's leftovers, and every year we have massive roster churn. The Johnsons don't know what they're doing, because they hired the people who are 'building' these shit shows. They are an embarrassment to the NFL in the biggest media market in the world, and it's been going on for a decade now.

The NFL should call them in and order them to sell.

Yes I am aware of that. My post was somewhat tongue-in-cheek.

There needs to be more accountability for the teams that are perpetually incompetent. Owners should either prove their qualifications to run a competitive organization or they should be required to hire a head of football operations and back off. Also in 2020 revenue sharing isn’t necessary as almost all teams make good money. If certain shitty franchises aren’t making money it’s mostly likely because it’s a bad product in many aspects. There is just too much reward for owners who put together consistently bad teams. Fans can bitch and moan about it, but other than the optics of seeing away fans in your stadium, it doesn’t amount to a huge loss financially. Especially in an area like NY where there’s plenty of opportunity to make money.

I don't think the Johnsons ever saw the Jets over the years as serious SB contenders.

The success we stumbled into with rookie Rex Ryan and rookie Nacho caught them a little off guard, and they went a bit crazy going all in on trying to win the ring at that moment. That effort backfired and set us back.

To me, the Johnsons see the Jets as just one of 32 NFL team. Their job is to field a team and put fans in the stands. In that regard, they've been very successful. They just never saw the Jets franchise including themselves as top notch football men competing year in and year out for the trophy. They wouldn't mind it, but after they field a team and hire a few men to run it, that's pretty much where it ends. Hiring Joe Douglas to a high end 6 year contract was probably they first thing they've done to try and build an actual long term contender.

My impression is that the Johnson brothers were a couple of middle school nerds who got shoved around by bullies. They had no talent to play any competitive sports themselves but they always wanted to "be around" the athletes in high school but never were. Using daddy's money to buy the jets was their chance to hang out with the football players and coaches--But they have no idea who to get to run the team--Hiring idiots like Mike MacMoron probably doesn't bother them that much, nor does losing all the time, as long as they get to call themselves the owners of an NFL team.

Exactly. Like so many other NFL franchise owners, they KNOW they have no clue, and are content with fielding a team and cashing the checks, which are huge.

And as long as the suckers keep on coming thru the turnstiles, buying the swag and watching the games on TV, the Johnsons will gladly take their money and put it in their accts. Just the way it is. This has nothing to do with on the field results, only the bottom line no matter what Chris Johnson says.

I do feel bad for Christopher Johnson though. I mean, he had a chance to step up with his brother gone, and he FLOPPED harder than anyone could flop. What a total dud. I believe he honestly was trying his best yet just had no clue.

You have to have an idea as to how to do a job before you actually do the job otherwise, its a trainwreck waiting to happen. Not sure if Chris Johnson's resume is more than a single side on a 8.5 x 11 but when it comes to running a football team, his knowledge wouldn't fill a thimble.

Nothing was as stupid as Chris firing Bowles without firing MacCagnan. Then he lets MacCagnan spend a ton of free agent money on losers, ruin the 2019 draft for the jets, and THEN he fires Maccagnan. Dumb dip!
