One year, which propelled KC to give him the starters job & money. He didn’t make it there, which is what I am trying to convey to you in regards to Darnold. Newton is beyond his prime. Darnold is 23 years old.
One fumble I totally agree with you. The play where Becton whiffed, every QB in the league is getting hit bad. The interception probably could have been avoided if Perriman had played some defense. I guess you omitted the 2 TD passes, and one TD run.
You can't blame the receiver on an interception for not batting the ball down well enough, dude. And the result is still the same whether you think every QB in the league would've fumbled that ball. Which is a nonsense argument considering some quarterbacks have better pocket presence than others. The end result was a below average game for an NFL quarterback. He threw for 186 yards against a defense that yields almost 270 a game. He accounted for 212 total yards, 3 touchdowns and 3 turnovers with the benefit of his two runningbacks running the ball for almost 6 yards a clip. You're trying to give him mulligans because things could've went another way.
I meeeeeean I can say that most NFL corners break on that better and turn it into a pick six. It was a bad throw and a good (not great) play. He predetermined where he was throwing that puppy as usual.
Gase is just a bad coach....Hopefully he is out of the league after this.I have nothing left to say about this guy.Ive been saying this since the day we hired him before we even played a game.He was never gonna take Darnold to the next level here or anywhere else.
Comparing their performances in single games is entirely meaningless. Wilson is a future hall of famer. Darnold will be lucky to be a backup in 3 years. I swear we need a stats 101 class here. Single games mean almost nothing, way too tiny a sample size. If you look at Darnold's entire career he's consistently been a bottom 2-4 QB in the NFL. That's who he is.
it was a great play by the CB. should have been incomplete if he didn't 1 hand it but still bad ballplacement. needed to be high and outside. maybe sam thought it was mims who can actually make a contested catch
Yeah for that route the ball needs to be delivered to the outside where only the WR has a chance at getting it. It was bad ball placement by Sam. It was a great catch by the CB, yes. But with a proper throw he never even has a chance at the ball.
To be honest I got all the way through my response before realizing I just said the same thing lol. I would have deleted my post if I could.
You're wrong about Perriman. It was a bad decision and a bad throw. That pass should never have been thrown, but if it was, it should have been thrown to the outside where only Perriman could catch it. Sam threw it to the inside. Perriman did try to prevent the DB from catching the ball but was unable to. I specifically remember seeing that.
