A Buddhist chant for watching the Jets: Ooooom! Not another three and out. Ooooom! Not another missed FG. Oooooom! Not another sack. Oooooom! When are they going to fire Gase? Oooom!
The Jets have a strong following in the U.K. because the game was huge over here in the mid-eighties and that 1986 shootout with the Dolphins was shown on Channel 4.
I for one am glad that all you guys are here. You make it more interesting and add a lot to the site with your knowledge, sense of humor, and perspective on things.
Yes it’s great to see you UK folks I’ve been to England about 10 times and it’s one of my favorite places - despite the crap weather. you guys just get it Incredibly witty people, best accents, and really polite and I love that most Englishmen love to travel and have no fear living abroad. makes sense since the British empire was legendary probs
Oh yeah One more thing I learned there the word “Wanker” is as bad or worse than C*nt be careful how you use it !
Oh yeah. Plum Duff, too. Great with custard (or creme anglais if you're feeling posh, it's the same thing) on a cold day with a roaring fire.
Yep. Another one here since the mid 1980’s. The first football shown in the UK was Super Bowl highlights on a show called World of Sport. It was presented as a novelty really. Weekly coverage started in 1982 and the sport became popular very quickly. Super Bowl 17 was the first to be shown live. Weekly live games have been shown on a sports subscription channel since the mid 90s but the game changer for me was NFL game pass coming out about ten years ago so we can watch all Jets games live as well as all sorts of content. So there’s no excuse for us to be uninformed and the UK Jets posters on here are just as passionate as our US counterparts. I’ve been over for quite a few games now with my two sons in law. (Their wives can hardly complain as I’m their Dad!). We get the beers in and tune in every Sunday. The Jets are one of the most popular teams in the UK. The game played in London @Miami in 2015 showed that.
