No shit, Coach... New York Jets' Adam Gase admits he hasn't helped Sam Darnold develop as NFL QB https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...gase-admits-helped-sam-darnold-develop-nfl-qb
This is what jumps out to me: "I came here to help him, help him develop his career, and WE haven't been able to do that," Yes, a little later on he says: "We need to do things well around him, but at the same time, it's on me to get him to play better than what he's played," Gase said. "I haven't done a good enough job." But that's like the captain of the Titanic "admitting" that "I could've done a better job steering the ship". No shit! Sorry, but a way too late admission of the obvious doesn't cut it. He needs to be fired immediately.
Well no shit Sherlock https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...gase-admits-helped-sam-darnold-develop-nfl-qb
Sometimes it seems like the only person that truly helped Sam develop was Josh McCown. We should have paid McCown well to stay on and tutor Sam.
Not to do your job Brook, but Acad already posted this earlier in this thread: https://forums.theganggreen.com/thr...-iq-what-the-loss-to-miami-shows.94735/page-5 and there were a couple of responses posted to his comment.
And then there's this that you posted in the other Adam Gase thread: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/12/02/sports/football/adam-gase-jets-playcalling.html
It is strange for a habitual liar like Gase to tell the truth. He must be up to something devious or really underhanded. Maybe, this is part of his plan to throw Darnold under the bus and blame Darnold or to argue that if Darnold improves the next 5 games that he deserves a 2nd look as coach and QB guru.
Spoken like a man that know it’s over. Taking some responsibility to show a good side for prospective employers. Also taking a bit of the bullet for Sam. Doesn’t matter, 5 more games and we turn the page on the whole ordeal
I will do over my Fandom if that slob Gase gets hold of Trevor Lawrence Its over ..maybe for a few others too. NYJets are bottom of the barell
I disagree, I think it says. hey you better get rid of me before you bring in Lawrence or I will screw his career up like I did with Darnold. I think this is good news for us because he is admitting he's not the guy CJ thought he was. One step closer to being axed, but don't expect any moves to dump him till after the season is over. It didn't take CJ long to dump Bowles, a day or two after our final game of the season.
For some reason. This just pisses me off more. It highlights just how much wasted time was taken from...us, the fan. How obvious It was to not hire him is enough to drive me up the wall... I was forced to endure this bullshit for the past two years... After already going through all the misery of 8 failed seasons. It's unreal honestly.
