First and foremost godspeed for teaching, the lady is one. So I know the stuggles and its not as easy as people say

I don't disagree that the CS is inept, but are we also looking at a case where the staff knows he struggles and calls plays accordingly?

Look at the playcall following the first int. Screens simple easy passes. Look at playcalling this and last following sams ints, almost always run run run or quick pass x 3.

Its probably like suggested, but sam was deficit to begin with. But honestly if manning calls you up and says this guy made me better, how can you dispute that? This is a legend saying a coach made him better when tony dungy didnt? How can that not affect you?

Ultimately was it the wrong fit, yes but i cant sit here and blame it all on the Jets and the CS. Darnold is just a bad player. He was never that prolific to begin with.

Keep playing Darnold to ensure 0-16.

Agree!! He has been Ruined and I blame this on the Johnsons for hiring Gase...I’m at a real crossroads with this organization whether it be Lawrence or fields... The hiring of the next coach will be a BIG deal for many of us...The Jets will end up with one of these two QBs ... if the dumb and dumber brothers don’t get this next hire right I’m done !!

    Pretty much.

It’s really hard to find anything good to say about Darnold at this point regardless of how we got here. That last pick was just horrendous.

Just watched an SNY interview with Sal Vacchiano. He addressed several of the Jets many issues. In regards to Darnold, he stated that most NFL GM’s still consider him to be an above average talent. They attribute much of his failures to poor coaching, blocking, and a lack of weapons.

The bar for Rosen was a 2nd, and a 5th. Sal stated that the Jets can easily get more than that. With the turmoil in NY, look for him to possibly end up in Pittsburgh. Please anyone but NE.

The media thinks Sam is an above average talent, or at least they did and now they're trying to cover their asses. But they have no idea what NFL teams think because teams aren't going to disclose what they really think. The proof will be when the Jets send Sam elsewhere, and we see what they actually get for him.

Let them believe that, it works for us. Hes still not going to be successful anywhere he goes as far as im concerned. The NFL is too much for him, that much is clear.

It wasn’t the media that was quoted. However I do agree that we shall see.

As far as I know, nobody was quoted, it was from "anonymous sources."

His footwork and mechanics just might be fatal flaws. A change of scenery will tell us whether or not that's the case.

I was excited when Mac got him ..but also wondered why the Giants passed on Sam

So he's a big disappointment..well what else is new in Jet Land?? lol

Whether he was ruined or regressed its time to move on

Darnold should keep playing to lose and we tank for Lawrence..might as well let the Genius keep Head Coaching too

    Onward and upward folks ...

Anonymous NFL sources. It's a game, teams leak what they want to leak, and reporters report the leaks they want to report.

Dude, the last time I checked everyone has a right to their own opinion. I understand that you think that you are always right, but others can go there own way. Take a chill pill.

I would imagine most teams interested in Darnold would not mention what they would offer, in hopes of keeping the price down. Those values floated around the NFL of 2nd plus are likely coming from the Jets side of things as a message to the league of initial asking price.

I know nothing about what NFL GMs think, of course, but I still will be very surprised if the Jets can get a second round pick for Darnold, unless it is for years in the future. He has had a terrible career, and a quality player should show at least some evidence of being able to overcome adversity. He simply hasn't shown that.
