The players seem to like him, I know that's not any kind of litmus test, but hopefully, he'll come through.
LOL Cohen reveals he bought the Bill Buckner ball several years back and is gonna display it at the Mets HOF
The best thing about that interview is when he said that unbeknownst to him his representative paid $410,000 for it, instead of the $150,000 he was told it would cost. He wasn't happy about it, but it wasn't like it wasn't still pocket change to him. The penny-pinching days of the Wilpons are over, but it's still going to come down to hiring the right people to make the right decisions. I'm still rooting hard for Theo in a year - he has the resume to be able to tell Cohen to keep his nose out of the business, and he also knows what he's doing better than just about anyone else in baseball.
Reliever Trevor May and the New York Mets are in agreement on a two-year contract, sources tell ESPN. Deal is pending a physical and could be official as soon as tomorrow. @AnthonyDiComo and @martinonyc were on it. Very good signing, likely the new setup man here.
I’d still bring Justin Wilson back too, then Lugo can stay in the rotation. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
We agreed about this last month, and we still agree. As I said then, the key is that the McAnn of the last two years is the real McAnn, not the McAnn of the years before then.
Looking like the Phillies looking to cut payroll. He was probably their most consistent pitcher. Their fanbase will be irate.
Can't imagine they would trade him within the division, but the Phillies sending him outside the NL East would be a good thing for the Mets.
Phillies have vehemently denied that they're looking to trade Wheeler. https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelp...trade-offers-report-theres-zero-truth-to-this
Heard again that Springer is the one guy who will most likely be a Met for around 100-125m total. Go get Bauer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stro as our 2 until Thor comes back is terrifying.
I’d much prefer Springer to Bauer if I can only have one but could certainly see both being signed. I don’t like paying a starting pitcher big money off one great year especially when you have no idea how that SPs loose cannon act will fare in NY. Springer gives us a consistent bat and great defense which are both big needs.
Signing May means Lugo can stay in the rotation too. Springer & McAnn and they have defense up the middle that’s been missing for years. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Even if you have to McCann 4 years he can back up the kid they have coming that fourth year. I’d be happy with just Springer, but Bauer & him wouldn’t hurt. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I'm cooling on McCann. I don't think he had the full time job in Chicago last year. At his age, and for four years, I'm not sure it's the best purchase. I hope Sandy is also exploring potential trades for catchers.
I'll be honest when I heard we were going after a catcher named McCann, I was thinking, holy shit, Brian McCann is a little long in the tooth. So, I don't know anything about James McCann. I looked at his stats and nothing really impressed me too much, but, I guess he's decent defensively and his offensive numbers seem to be on the rise. I'll be rooting for him hard.
