Just more proof that Gase is far ahead of the rest of us with his thinking: he anticipated the coronavirus and was just getting his family ready for it last year!:p

I think JD and Gase agreed at the beginning of the season or maybe when JD was hired that they would have 1 full season no matter what. After that let the chips fall as they may. He’s toast. He knows it too because he’s not his arrogant self the last 4-5 weeks I find. Writing is on the wall

Agreed. You can see it in the way he approaches the game. He is less of an asshole, which is strange.
The play calling too, letting it rip deep every pass in the 2nd half Sunday cause... why not? he knows he's only got a few weeks left as a HC and he's acting accordingly.

Do you guys think Adam Gase will be out of the league in 2021? I can't find a spot for him. Normally, if a Head Coach is fired, they get a job as a Coordinator. Who would want to hire Adam Gase as an Offensive Coordinator? Certainly not me. Okay, then what is under that? QB Coach? Who would hire Adam Gase to help their QB's? Certainly not me. Not sure where he goes after being fired this January.

If Brian Cornelius Schottenheimer can get a job in the NFL after being a terrible OC for so many years then I believe Gase will get another opportunity at some point.

He may have to go to the college ranks for a while but he has enough friends in the NFL that he will get another job as assistant.

Whatever it takes to avoid his close family members and ruin another team

You're probably right that eventually he will get another shot. I think he may have to take a year or two off and let some of the stink die away first, then go to the college ranks either as an OC or HC. For the life of me, I can't imagine anyone thinking that he would be a good hire, but undoubtedly, there is someone out there as stupid as the Johnsons who will hire him. Schottenheimer had a LOT of flaws and I trashed him unmercifully. I was shocked to learn that he was an OC in the NFL again, but that said, he was never as bad and totally as inept as Gase is. I don't recall Schotty ruining any QBs, or his teams consistently failing to score and getting blown out. To be sure, he undoubtedly left a lot of points on the field with his Jets' teams, but his teams did score some points and won, After all, the Jets made it to the AFC Championship games in 2009 and 2010, and he was OC for both Mangini and Ryan.

With the Burrow injury, corona , with Trevor possibly missing out in playing and winning a final national championship. I could see him staying in school. Everything has changed for our youth. Many feel corona has robbed them, and want to replay their glory yrs. I can not blame them. Trevor was robbed of this season. Is there anything better than be the best college qb? No . He can replay it under his terms , insure his future under a insurance policy and write his own college legend.

It seems like he's friendly with Belichick. I could see him landing a position with the Pats if he stays in the league.

Still have 6 weeks to go but if the Jets finish 0-16 and the Steelers finish 16-0 then that would be a first in NFL history. I don't think a team has gone winless and undefeated in the same season.

There's always somebody ready to make this argument, but what is it based on? Where is the history of this team pinching pennies? What gives you the idea that the Johnsons are "greedy and cheap" as it relates to the J
With all that time invested shouldn't he be better at it?

Six more wasted weeks. He should have been gone a month ago. (If not last year.)

Adam Gase really IS an offensive genius.

Sit in an office with him and let him go through the Xs and Os, he's really impressive. Even now when he sits down after each game with that dweeb and he goes through each play, is sounds like he REALLY knows formations, plays, etc. He's very convincing. He actually sounds super smart.

But, unfortunately, that is were it all ends. He's very book smart, but very people stupid. He falls apart when his game plan and his Xs and Os on a chalk board don't translate well with his men on the field. I don't think he can read players very well. If something works great on the board, Gase can't figure out why his players couldn't make it work on the field. He's not a great reader of men.

And Gase doesn't inspire either. He's NOT a rah rah kind of coach. If Gase can see how it works on the board, than that should be enough for his players too. Gase doesn't get how a firey speech at half time will fire his men up. Gase just doesn't get the emotional side of the game.

Rex Ryan, for all his faults, was just the opposite. He would be the first to tell you all those Xs and Os confuses him, but there he was, on the sidelines, tearing it up, chest bumping his players. Getting them to perform well beyond their pay grid. This is the side of Adam Gase that's completely missing. Gase is 100% analytical. 0% emotional.

As others have pointed out, when the camera pans to the QB, he's sitting all alone on the bench. No one in his ear. And Gase? He's sitting all alone too, on a different bench, his face buried in his game plan.

If we can find a coach that combines Rex Ryan's shear passion for the game and for his men, and Gase's high end analytics, we'd have ourselves a real HC.

Gase isn't good at Xs and Os, he just pretends he is to people who aren't football experts. Someone like Andy Reid is an actual offensive genius, but unlike Gase, he doesn't tout himself as one because he doesn't need to. Reid is the Nobel Laureate, Gase is the obnoxious second-rate professor who uses big words in casual conversations. Unfortunately, Chris Johnson fell for Gase's act, and we got stuck with Gase as a result.
