Studs D-line - quinnen, anderson, shepard all had nice games getting pressures and controlling the run game. Anderson also blocked a punt Perriman - for another deep TD catch. at least he's giving us some excitement in our offense mims - stat line wasn't great 3 for 71 yards on 8 targets but he did cause several PI calls for 1st downs as well. he's looking like a future stud. not to mention that catch that should have been picked off and mims just took it away from the defender. he reminds me of a young brandon marshall maye - quietly had a good game. forced a fumble at the goal line, broke up a pass and wasn't exposed for anything dumb off the top of my head Herndon - redemption day for him. had a TD and a few nice grabs. no drops or fumbles. EDIT: he did have an early drop but redeemed himself with 2 nice grabs including a TD o-line - only allowed 1 sack. kept bosa in check. flacco had clean pockets most of the day Duds Gase - offense wasn't awful but playcalling was. he also was "relaying the calls in" from loggains with veto rights. just ass backwards and dumb. down a ton and still running gore up the middle. it's a joke. Berrios - not even trying to lateral on the last play lol Flacco - for the early pick 6 and for being very inaccurate all day. mims saved him from an INT as well. he looks bad. outside of throwing a good deep ball he doesn't do anything well Ficken - 2 missed Xps. time to bring back castillo and cut ficken IMO
Yeah I don't claim to be an NFL pro scout but to my casual fan eyes Mims looks like a fantastic player. He blocks, is lanky, looks like he's going to make tough contested catches. I've been elated with him so far personally. He may not be Julio Jones but he looks like a starter and a keeper.
Stud - Mann had two more punts inside the 20. It was nice to see Anderson come back to life and play like we thought he was going to this season. He also got a nice TFL and half sack.
Pretty sure Herndon dropped one right in his hands. Shepherd committed the dumbest RTP penalty you will ever see. Mims is going to be a beast. Becton more than held his own against legit pass rushers again.
Herndon had a BRUTAL drop early. Right in the hands..... it was right when my brother in NY called, and I was yelling at the TV "THIS DUDE CAN'T EVEN CATCH COVID!!" TD was a bit of redemption though
Studs: Mims was nice, perriman as well, could have had 2 long TDs if throw was better. Gore was steady as usual. Henry Anderson and Q were good. Blocked punt was nice. Duds: Gase, just horrible play calls, but did have good adjustments at half. Bad timeout at end of game! GW management of D, just bad, bad penalties again. Flacco, mixed, few nice throws, but mostly bad, especially the pick six. Secondary was not good. Castillo anyone? Ficken has to go. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I was looking forward to this thread, thank you again for posting! When Herndon dropped that first pass I was shouting 'Cut him on the field!' Then he made that leaping 26-yarder and I thought it might be the sort of thing to wake him up and he had that really nice TD reception after, so he deserves his stud ranking, I think, especially in comparison to how he has been playing. Maye was very visible, but did anyone else thing he tackled our own defender when he was going to catch the receiver on the long TD early on? That made me smile in a sort of f'ed-up Jets fan kind of way. And Flacco's pick-six was so awful he deserves his dud rating just for that. Lofted a puffball out there like there were no defenders on the field at all! It was the sort of pass I expect to see from a rookie on his first drive as a pro.
Yeah as mentioned that first Herndon drop was brutal. But the next two grabs are a reason why everyone scratches their head like the talent is there but he’s been BAD all year. I just hope he can continue to stay the course and finish strong.
LMAO it was so late and he threw his hands up like it wasn't me after the play Jets have 10 RTP penalties this year. 2nd place in the NFL is saints with 5
3 of JD’s picks played well in Mims, Mann, and Becton. How about the rest? The draft class is my biggest curiosity for the rest of this season, aside of when Gase will be fired.
Jets now have 12, I think. They had 10, and the Sheperd one was #11. CBS put the graphic on the screen. Then I stopped watching after halftime, but read that there was another RTP later in the game. Herndon definitely had a drop early. Keep Ficken kicking. He will help insure that we lose out. Why in the world do you guys want to replace him with Castillo when he could cause us to wind up winning a game or two? Keep him on the roster, extend him going forward, but keep him inactive, and keep playing Ficken.
davis played well. bryce hall did decent all things considered. I'm pretty sure the shepard was 10. Could have had another one after that too i might have missed
That's not what CBS said. They said that the Jets had 10 coming to the game and that Shepherd was #11. Jenkins got a RTP penalty in the 3rd Qtr. during the Charger 16-play FG drive.
