If I was the opposing team, I wouldn't even bother to dress a punter against us. It's a waste of a roster spot for many reasons. First of all, I honestly don't think this D is capeable of stopping ANY offense in the league from getting 10 yards on 4 downs. And how many times have we forced a punt all year from inside the opposing 40? I'd say less than 10. Also what Jets game ever comes down to field position? If I was playing the Jets at a bare minimum, I'd absolutely go for every 4th down outside of FG range. You'll be fine 90% of the time. On the 10% you get burned, we are highly unlikely to reach the endzone anyway. I am dead serious. No way do I bother to punt against this defense. Most offenses in the league going for every 4th down outside of FG range against us are almost guaranteed to score 35-40 points. That's 3 games for us. Maybe 4.
