Yea, never mind. I was worried about how Fields would react when he didn’t have all day to throw and it’s been a disaster.

Good lord, Fryfogle - is he Jerry Rice incarnate or something?

this kid fields has thrown three picks today against Indiana.....IF we win a game and TL not there for us I vote to stick with Darnold and maybe trade the #2 or 3 pick for multiple pics

I know a lot of people wanna run Darnold out of town and I understand that but fields did not impress today....Sure fields looks good when he has all day to throw and he’s playing against inferior talent.. I’m sorry I’m not giving up on Sam for fields... TL ok

I just watched the game on DVR, I am officially off the Fields wagon.

I still need to watch another game of Lawrence against a good defense to feel good about Jets for future. :(

Me too he was horrible against a good D. I retract my comment about taking him over Sam.

Maybe we are jumping the gun a little but I wasn’t impressed with him when he threw 5 TD’s a few weeks earlier either. Hangs on to ball a lot and doesn’t go thru progression. Single look and shot.

But I am no college guy or QB guru. We need strong football guys like @legler82 @Br4d @MaximusD163 @Jonathan_Vilma tell us what they think:)

I dont want fields at all. Not even based on this game alone. Hes a bad prospect. We cant just simply look at wins and stats in college as what players become in the NFL. How they play is far more important.

If we dont get Lawrence, we might as well just keep Sam.

It's hilarious to me how people are so reactionary and jump on and off of players so quickly. Justin Fields did not have a great game, but he made a few nice plays and you can see his potential. That performance should not sway you either way.

I've never been a fan of his. I'm big on mechanics and his suck.

Can someone make me feel better about Fields? That game he played vs. Indiana was really ugly. Some of the decisions he made on throws reminded me terrifyingly of Darnold.

I think I'm back to thinking it's Lawrence or bust for us in the draft. I'm extremely low on Darnold but Fields reminded me way too much of him last game.

Can’t speak for others but I was so swayed by one game because my main concern with Fields was how he would respond to having less time to throw and it didn’t look good when someone finally tested him in that area

Dane Brugler, The Athletic's draft guy, said on a podcast that Lawrence is awesome, but he'd actually have him behind Burrow if they were in the same draft (he had Burrow rated as a higher prospect in his draft year than he currently has Lawrence).

We are on the same boat my friend. I am just a casual fan who never watches any college football. I wish we had some college football gurus on this board to help us a little.

I'm daydreaming about a scenario where the Jets get the first pick, but Douglas and his crew secretly like Fields better than Lawrence (I'm not trying to offer any actual opinion on this debate). They create a bidding war for the pick with the intention of getting JAX involved, end up trading the 1st overall for the 2nd overall, plus two future 1sts, and still end up with Fields.

Odds are if they get #1 it's Lawrence all the way, but I just thought that sequence would be unbelievably amazing as a hypothetical.

He didn't look bad though either. At least to me. I could see his play making ability and his intelligence. Made a couple bad throws resulting in INT's, but nothing where I would remove him from the potential #2 overall pick. See how he does the rest of the season and in the College Football Playoff first.

The thing is he looked mediocre when he didn’t have all day to throw to wide open receivers. That’s what everyone wanted to see and IMO he got a D+. We will see how he does in the playoffs as he will be under even more pressure from likely Alabama’s D
