If we don't secure top pick, should we go after Dak Prescott?

We still have Gase and he still can screw us up with a surprise win here or there. Jags don't look like they will win another game. If somehow we miss out on Trevor and don't like Fields enough, would you go after Dak?

His asking price will be somewhere around 35 mil I think.

Unfortunately we have so many holes, we can’t afford to pay that much for a QB and be competitive. Probably better to roll the dice for three years and continue to build through the draft and stabilize the franchise.

DAK is great, but not the right time for this team.

Yup. Dak is a fantastic player. And anyone who tells you otherwise is a fool. He instantly makes any team he'd go to much better.

But this team is so depleted of talent that it is several years away from needing to make a splash move. Dak depletes half of the cap space available and forces us to let any free agent walk. Plus the question remains of how he'll bounce back.

Might as well roll the dice one more year with Sam and see what happens. In the meantime, just stockpile talent where we need it.

He'd cost more than he's worth to this team the way it's currently built. If we were already knocking on the door, maybe, but even then who knows how good he'll be when he returns? Better to try and find our own FQB, either stick with Sam (only if Gase is gone), or find a cheaper option for now.

Neither can most teams. That's why teams who overpay QBs tend to do worse.

Agreed Justin fields Had a horrible day ...three pics again Indiana ...no way I’m giving up on Sam for fields.... Bring in a competent coach more talent and let’s see what happens.... if TL is there for us yes you take him... if not stay with Sam...and hell no to Dak the cost!!

Justin Fields had his first bad football game in his college career. Sam is 11-21 as a starter in the NFL man. It's a no brainer who we should go with...

Be like having Neil O’Donnell return
I’m sorry I disagree with you bro ...fields had pressure today...it’s easy to look good when you have time to throw... I think he was sacked 5 times today.... if TL is there yes you take him.... fields?? I think twice about that move....I want to see fields make plays again good competition ... today was a bad showing

I am not certain that Darnold won't be a successful QB just yet. I would also definitely give him another year.

I would not go for Dax at that price point. He is good, he’s not great. He had THE best OL, the best RB, and good receivers, and couldn’t get it done there. He’d be coming into a MUCH worse team here.

    no way

I haven’t seen Fields play, so I don’t know if this one bad day is a fluke, or if it’s a preview of what he’d look like behind our shitty OL, so I can’t say yes or no to Fields yet, but I’m skeptical.

I think it’s Trevor or bust....if we don’t get the top pick, and if Fields is not the guy (and it’s hard to name any stud Ohio State QBs....the Redskins kid has been really bad), I’d sooner keep Darnold and use the picks to build around him than try and sign Dak.

After watching Fields today, I am out. They should have blown out Indiana. Score was never even that close. I say, trade the pick and roll with Sam and new coach.

Dak is a significantly better QB than Sam, but he isn't a good fit here. So if for some reason we can get Dak on a relatively cheap deal, then we should go for it, but another team should outbid us.

If the Jets don't get the #1 pick then they probably will get the #2 pick. It will be Lawrence or Fields. IMHO

Isn't Prescott the guy whose foot is on sideways?

Less than a year ago Sam Darnold CRUSHED Dak and da 'Boys 24-22 on National TV.

    Sam >>> Dak
