They have a projected $29.3 mm in space plus rollover from this year of $28.3 mm so they have space. They’ll make a couple of restructures like Tyron Smith and be fine.
Yes they are ranked top 10 come 2021 in available cap space (9th) and with a very good offense in place they simply need to focus on Defense after Dak (24th in yards allowed per game and 32nd in points allowed per game) it won't be easy but I fully expect Dallas to focus on Defense throughout both FA and draft because their truly a top 10 defense away from SB contenders once Prescott returns from injury.
We should draft Trevor AND keep Sam to compete during TC. If Trevor looks ready, play Sam during the 4th pre-season game. Works every time!
Agree IF we have the 1st overall you have to take TL he’s the only QB in this draft I’d move on from Darnold for ... I like trey Lance more than J Fields... but Would lean to keep Sam over those two
Exactly! Of course, the most important part of the equation is dumping Gase but why anyone would not want to keep as many avenues to success open as possible is incomprehensible. The correct answer is not listed in the poll but you have to change the coach, keep Darnold and draft the best quarterback you can.
It's just too early to vote on this because there is a 5th option: what if the Jets don't land the # 1 pick? A whole new set of scenarios arise.
Personally I think the Jets have way too many holes. We dont have quality starting rb, wr, edge, cb as of yet. So I'd like to flip the top pick for more picks. Emotional response to this is new coach, and new QB (T.L). I wouldnt want another qb to run a team w/o a legit line, and skill players, because after 3 years well be in the same situation. I cant stand Gase but like Sam. But they were dealt a shtty hand. Now let's say Sam stays Gase is gone, Sam will need to learn another offense? Our Jet Situation is horrible to say the least. We need Mims, Becton, and Perine to pan out for us on offense for us move have any chance of improving nxt year
I went with "New HC and TL" as that is what I hope happens but I also read it as "New HC and New QB". Even if end up with the #2 pick, I think we move on from Darnold and try to start over and build around Fields. I guess we'll find out soon enough!!
New Head Coach = Jim Harbaugh. New Franchise QB = Trevor Lawrence. Along with a boat load of draft capital over the next 2-3 drafts and A+ available cap space we'll become future winners of a Franchise. And can you make this poll, public? Because I'd really like to know who the 3 geniuses are who voted to keep both Sam/Gase (in order to remind myself to never talk football with them, again).
Lawrence and new coach. as you long timers know, i was against taking another usc qb back 3 years ago in the first place. mayfield was my first choice, but allen and jackson were still available. and, staying at 6 would have meant keeping those 3 second round picks, which in hindsight, could have netted two guards and a center, or at least one tackle and wr. hindsight is always 20-20, as weeb used to say.
Who the fuck are the three trolls voting for Gase and Darnold to return? What is wrong with these people or are those votes from the Bills trolls? Edit I see we have a confessor, dear god Edit 2 I see the question had been asked already, bollocks
Mike Tannenbaum is on Sports Final with Bruce Beck now and he's still sticking up for Adam Gase and is kind of blaming Gase's problems on Darnold. He says Darnold's value to the Jets or another team has been "discounted." He compared him to Sanchez with flashes of good play b ut continues to make mistakes like fumbling. Although he tied Gase's hiring to being there to bring up Darnold, he put none of the blame for Darnold's failures on Gase but rather blamed Gase's poor record on Darnold's failure to rise and on injuries and the offensive line with the exception of Becton. He also praised Gase's success in Miami with Tannehill before he was injured. My takeaway is that he bent over backwards to cover for Gase and took a shot at the Jets organization, pointing there as the failure. Most likely he's still trying to rationalize making Gase the head coach in Miami; if Gase is really who we believe he is he's just another failure on Tannenbaum's plate.
