I really liked what I read about Huff following the draft, liked the video of him I saw, and had high hopes that he could develop into a quality edge rusher, and it looks like he is.
I'm glad to see Huff doing well at a position we've been in dire need of for a long time. Hopefully he continues to develop and can provide some stability there for the next few years. If so, talk about a UDFA steal by JD.
Sorry NC. I'm not sold on this guy whatsoever. Born and raised in Alabama but yet coming out of HS he wasn't good enough to play for an Alabama or Auburn and had to settle for Memphis. Yes he had a decent season for Memphis but went unnoticed by NFL GMs. And as of right now he's an undrafted player with 1.0 sacks that came during a 24-0 loss against Miami. Sorry NC. I need more than 1 sack from an undrafted kid who played for Memphis before I consider him any type of hopeful pass rusher. Robby Anderson was a kid who emerged during preseason as an undrafted Jet and never looked back. Bryce Huff? Meh.
And wtf happened to Jordan Jenkins?!? Coming off a combined 15 sacks over the past two years to a whopping 1.0 sack throughout 7 starts here in 2020? Guys like Poole, Maye, Williamson and Jenkins do not move the needle for me as a defensive minded football fan. They've all looked like absolute crap this year once #33 left for Seattle. Get rid of them all for draft capital and start all over on Defense. Outside of QW the potential of these players are mediocre at best and when I think 2020 Jets Defense it makes me absolutely sick due to a lack of effort they've all shown me.
Sorry for not jumping off a cliff with excitement due to 1 career sack during a 24-0 loss. Hey Rugby/Soccer boy. You didn't have anything to say about Huff? lol.
Well I can't tell by his posting history he takes shots at me 24/7 and I always ignore him but lately he's been calling me names like "twit" and it was my turn to finally respond.
Your posting history is 15,000 characters on how Darnold and our elite roster will drive us to a 13-3 record by season end. Now it’s how bad Darnold is and how shitmouth Jamal Adams would have led us to a VLT. You’re either eight months pregnant or badly in need of some lithium.
I'm going to be honest, for my health, I haven't watched every game closely this year due to the overwhelming suck that Is the entire Jets organization. I'm going to look for myself, but, does anyone have any links for cut-ups on, Huff? As a Jet? I haven't seen him play much this year and I didn't even realize He was being productive TBH. Thanks for sharing this info, NC.
That's a bold face lie. After we traded away Jamal Adams I immediately made it known our Defense would become absolutely horrible and went even further and a predicted a 3-13 record with potential of a 1996 1-15ish type of season (word for word too). Trading #33 means JD was planning for the future but absolutely quit on our 2020 season before it ever started. Nothing worse than a liar.
He has only appeared in 5-6 games, and I don't know how many snaps he's been on, but there's not much film out there that I can find on his play with the Jets. Following is one link where you can read the write up and see one video, but to see the rest one has to be a subscriber: https://jetsxfactor.com/2020/10/04/...e-huff-flashes-in-first-extended-action-film/ https://jetswire.usatoday.com/2020/...uff-lamar-jackson-jets-undrafted-free-agents/ Highlights from his 2019 Season at Memphis: Huff breaks down his play a Memphis:
I didn't say that you should be sold. I'm not sold. The thread title doesn't say "Stud Pass Rusher for the Jets". It says "Some Hopeful News for the Future." Lots of great players in the NFL didn't play at SEC or Big Ten schools. They played at small schools for a number of reasons. He had 64 pressures last year at Memphis. He should have been invited to the Combine, but wasn't, and his Pro Day was canceled due to Covid. THAT's why he went undrafted. Sacks aren't the only thing that matters. He's also good against the run and is tied for second among all the rookie Edge rushers in QB pressures, but I guess that's a meaningless statistic in your mind. Whatever.
Not really. I'm just an NCAA crazed fan and without great HS career's you're not going to the Clemson's, Alabama's, LSU's and top Florida schools etc to begin with and any top programs around the Country. HS football matter's just ask the powerhouse teams who recruit these kids every off-season. High School Football is a religion down here in the South and I've been in Florida since my younger teenager year's and fans from Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, Texas etc look at HS football much more differently than say fans from NY and NJ where H.S football is absolutely ignored and where locals couldn't care less about their HS football kids. No one in my old Queens neighborhood ever talked up John Adams Football as a kid growing up in South Ozone Park. Moved to Florida and OMG Friday Night Football? People within our community go crazy over Lakewood, Northeast, St Pete, Gibbs, Bogie, Largo, Clearwater and Pinellas Park RIVALRY games etc. You may not understand the importance of HS football but fans of the south do. One of my nephew's played for Northeast High 4-7 years ago and now I've got another nephew playing for them this year and back in the late 90s-2000s while I went to NEHI we had over 40 consecutive games without a single loss under coach Austin (still a Pinellas County record) and Pinellas County currently has too many current NFL players in the league to even name right now one of the HOTBEDS for Florida football. I'm pretty sure South Ozone Park doesn't even have 3 of them in the NFL right now lol. But yes. Always remember one thing. Without HS football? There is no NCAA.
Yeah, I watched him In college a bit before we got him as an UDFA, I liked his game, a little surprised he didn't get drafted too. Not that I think he would be a stud, but, good depth player. Hopefully for us, he turns Into a stud for us. That would be nice. I couldn't find anything much from his play so far with the Jets but I'll be looking closer moving forward Into the season for this kid. Any good news Is obviously encouraged In an otherwise nightmare of a season. This Is the only breakdown or video I could find thus far on Huff as a Jet. He's the very last breakdown, with only one play that was broken down of him. It was an easy TFL but hard play recognition for a rookie, but, he did It perfectly. It's not much, happen around the 13:30 mark of the video. It's better than nothing I suppose. ha Also, It highlights our other rookies too, which was good to see too. Good video overall I thought. If you find time.
Hey man. I like underdog success stories too but I'm just not putting any type of hope into believing we finally have a hopeful outside pass rusher I've had hope since J-Abe and I've lost all hope over the years Gholston was the straw that broke my back. You don't think I crave for a fierce pass rusher? Lol just look @ my username. I do. But 1 sack or a couple of pressure's on an 0-7 team doesn't move the needle for me. Hopefully he becomes a household name for us but right now I've gotta first see it in order to believe it. To each our own.
Whoa, I thought the deal was you ignore the fact that he is a multiple account holding troll and we get to tee of on the idiot whenever we like.
