Hope he gets through it ok. Many people end up with issues that seem to last for a while beyond “beating” covid.
Many people are reporting long-term respiratory issues, neurological issues, weakness etc...this sucks
We might see Clemson struggle on offense during his absence. A couple weeks ago I put Clemson on my parlay ticket to cover by 50.5 pts against an awful school. I watched every play. @ halftime the score was 49-0. I was 100% sure Clemson would cover. I was wrong. Clemson benched Trevor because of the blowout @ halftime up 49-0. Clemson kept all of their starters in the game during the 3rd and 4th Q's. Clemson's #2 Backup QB stunk so bad they went to their 3rd string QB. He also stunk so bad where the game ended 49-0 and I didn't cover. Without TL Clemson's offense couldn't score a single point. Not even a FG. They struggled to even move the chains with 1st downs without Lawrence under Center. He's truly, that awesome. As an FSU fan I never really cared for Clemson. But I do not want to see them lose a game without Trevor because I want to see this kid perform throughout another playoff game and another National Championship Game appearance. A Clemson loss during his covid absence would become heartbreaking for the NCAA imo. Get well kid.
Hopefully he fully recovers and has no long term issues, but it's not unusual for those to occur. In fact - worst case - young healthy people have died from it. I certainly don't wish for anything but a quick and complete recovery for him. That said, just because he's a "golden boy" doesn't mean he deserves to recover any more than any of the 230+ thousand - so far - who didn't. And again, this is why the whole "Tank for Trevor" is silly. No one knows what will happen between now and the end of April.
He might have a near death experience where he sees his life and angels, and he comes out of his coma a new man, and decides to go on a journey to find himself somewhere in the Himalayas where he'll share a cave with Jeremy Bates and come out with true knowledge and understanding of the game of football. then sign with the jets!!!
Not content with striking down Jets QBs with viruses, the football gods have progressed to striking down potential future Jets QBs with viruses.
His agent should have released this news closer to the Draft for the maximum “Marino takes cocaine” effect. He could have ended up on a good team.
I was hopeful this year that Sam would play well, but given his history, would somehow contract Covid and then die from it, really throwing the Jets into a tailspin. Now we get the worst scenario, Darnold has played like shit, and the top prospect we want has Covid. Only the Jets.
