People claimed Sam had no O-Line in years past only to see multiple O-Lineman starting for other teams once leaving Sam Darnold. People claimed Sam had no WR weapons in years past only to see Robby Anderson become a top 5 WR in both receptions and receiving yards once leaving Sam Darnold. People claim it's Adam Gase but yet fail to realize Ryan Tanny put up QB Ratings of 92 and 93 during his only two seasons with Gase compared to Sam now having a QB Rating of 65 this year (dead last) and 31.1 yesterday WITHOUT GASE CALLING THE PLAYS! Sam Darnold is the #1 problem.
Sam frequently "runs for his life" when there's no reason to. He has horrendous pocket awareness. Burrow is behind the worst o line in football and he's average like twice as many yards per game as Sam is.
No matter who is right in this discussion, if the Jets get the #1 pick in the draft, they are picking Lawrence.
The shitty talent argument goes out the door when a guy like Case Keenum can complete 64% of his passes on that bad Washington team last year with 11 touchdowns/5 picks. Did anyone watch the Eagles/49ers game? CJ Beathard came in in the 4th quarter and went 14/19 for 139 yards and a TD drive to pull the game within a stop or onside kick of winning. The legendary Drew Lock and Jacoby Brissett outplayed Sam in 2019. Daniel Jones doubled up his touchdowns to interceptions in 2019. And he's nowhere near a good NFL starter. I'm not sure why people are so protective of him. Probably because he's been hyped around here as some sort of savior since his first couple games at USC. I'm also tired of hearing about confidence. Lots of callers on 98.7 making excuses for Sam today. Yes, the guard play has been bad this season and the wide receivers as a unit are below average. Yes, the coaching is an absolute joke. None of that excuses FOUR YARDS OF OFFENSE IN A HALF! Sam right now is just as bad, if not worse than Mark Sanchez in 2012. It’s time to move on.

Nobody is saying it's entirely his fault, we're just pushing back on the LARGE number of our fans who seem to think that Darnold is a top 10 QB and is being held back by everyone else. There are way more of our fans who think that than ones who think Sam is the only problem.
Yes. I am. When you're in your 3rd year? And have the 32nd rated QB rating? Dead last? And coming off a 31.1 QBR yesterday? Yes. He's the #1 problem because we ended up drafting an absolute BUST from USC. He was a turnover machine in HS (17-18 fumbles). He was a turnover machine @ USC with both INTs and fumbles and now he's an NFL turnover machine with our Jets. Sam Darnold is the #1 problem as a QB because if not Jet fans wouldn't want to go 0-16 for TREVOR LAWRENCE! It's sad when I could predict 2 INTs from Sam yesterday in the Game Thread heading into Buffalo game. And. Sam did as I predicted (without Gase calling plays) and tossed another 2 INTs. He's absolutely awful.
No question about it they should take Lawrence with the number one pick ...I just disagree that Sam is useless Or could never lead a team....He’s gonna need to be coached up and he’s going to need talent around him like every other quarterback in this league

Sam can't be compared to every other NFL QB in this league. Compared to every NFL QB in this league Sam is ranked DEAD LAST IN QB RATING. 32ND to be exact. QB Rating of 65. Coming off a QB Rating of only 31.1 yesterday. Not all QBs have situations that smell like roses. But no QB has been an horrible as Sam. Even Ryan Tanny put up QB Ratings of 92 and 93 under Gase during their 2 years together. Sam Darnold? 65! Yesterday without Gase calling plays? 31.1! Sam is another USC BUST.
