Our biggest competition is the Jaguars. We need to pray they steal a win over the Chargers today. There are a ton of 1 win teams, we may have to lose out the rest of the way tbh.

Yup, and they have a pretty rough schedule a worse offense than us.

The Jags have a brutal schedule but their offense is light years better than the Jets. This teams offense would have a hard time scoring on some college teams.

How bout Dallas, they look almost bad as jets! And down to 3rd QB.

For me, Dallas is out. Jets aren't winning 3 games to worry about Dallas. Also Dallas plays against Giants, Redskins and Phillies rest of the year. NFC East teams will knock each other out.

Let's focus on Jags for real. It is either them or us picking first.

Oline was putrid in second half! Felt bad for Darnold. They were on him by the time he stepped back to survey the field. Buffalo lnew what was coming!

I don’t think Dallas wins again! They are that bad, seriously right now worse than us. I watched them last week and this week. The team had given up! Jets surprised me today they had some step up to them. They build on that they will win a couple/ few games. If they played Dallas they would most likely win. I think if crowder played today, we might have won. He would have made difference.

It would be so typically Jets luck that the one year we need the Patriots to beat us they end up sucking and we win a game that potentially takes us out of the #1 pick

The jags schedule going forward is
    Packers
    Steelers
    Browns
    Vikings
    Titans
    Ravens
    Bears
    Colts

I don’t really see another win in there, unless the Vikings collapsed completely or they become a “trap” game for someone.

Exactly! That's why I couldn't believe I was seeing posters saying that he should be fired already.

The OL is a work in progress, This OL was never intended to be the final product. Look at how many one-year contracts he gave out,and with the exception of McGovern, even those who have 2- or 3-year deals can be cut after this season with little or no cap hit. At the time of FA, I don't think that Douglas knew there would be no preseason. He was also supposedly limited spending wise in FA by the Johnsons, so there was only so much he could do.

I get that but I just don't think singing Joe D's praises for an 0-7 start and after todays performance is warranted today of all days thats all I am saying.

We have to stop settling for "not absolutely terrible" as Jets fans. Perrine and Mims combine for 90 yards today and I'm seeing posts about the great Joe D. Can we lose by less than a TD before we create Joe D is great posts is all I am saying.

Some of these losers have to play each other so 1 team has to win -- right ?

Also, can we win SOS against any of the other 1-win teams ?

Mims had a pretty good first game no? Joe D isn’t great or terrible. He’s had one offseason to revamp one of the worst teams in the NFL.

It was Mims' first game and Perine's first extended action. You yourself have said how terrible Gase and his play calling is. I don't think anyone is saying that Joe D is great because they (Perine and Mims) combined for 90 yards, but because posters can see the potential in Mims, and Perine looks like he could develop into a solid backup. We have Becton and Mann. Huff was a UDFA and he's making some plays. We've yet to see Zuniga or Clark, but when is the last draft that we got this many usable players who are contributing? Give them a better CS, better offense, and better play calling, and we could be competitive sooner than we think.

Also, we haven't had anything to get excited about this year. Posters are trying to find some fun, joy, and something to get excited about. You may not need that or think there's anything worth getting excited over, but why piss on their parade? We've all suffered enough.

Mims had 4 catches for 40 years. Decent start and something to be encouraged about.

You said it. Not great not terrible I think it's way too early to say. But today was not the day to praise him for being this great GM like posts I saw earlier.

These are the facts. The team was 7-9 last year and now they are looking at 0-16. His one offseason could produce a team that wins 7 less games than the year prior. Gase is all time bad. But again, not the day to be posting about the Great Joe D is all I am saying. We can say we are encouraged by some of the rookies but going out of the way to "praise" Joe D is just a little much for me right now.

I think you are missing my point. Liked the fact that we saw a few of the young guns contribute today. A few things to be optimistic about. But the whole "Joe D is great" stuff has to get the breaks please. Geez. Demand better as Jets fans. We have less than 10 players that can be part of a turnaround so forgive me of I am not throwing parades for Douglas. And I am not one saying he should be fired at all. I think he has a chance to turn this around. But AGAIN, today is not the day to claim how great he is.
