Actual it’s the opposite. You see flashes of special once or twice a game. It’s mundane stuff in between he struggles with.
If he saw Mims on that play where he was running it would’ve been another TD. He hesitated, then threw after staring at him. He has some serious mechanical problems.
It's the "special" that keeps me thinking he can overcome the "mundane" mistakes, but I've got to say I'm beginning to doubt.
That Darnold INT is why any type of success we have is fools gold, well never be a great team with current coaching staff or Darnold... Like some of you mentioned, those types of misstakes shouldn't be happening year 3
Do you all believe that AG is not calling the plays! And, they actually look better not great but better and have a different flow...
I still think Sam can be a decent starter in this league on the right team/situation. He will never be the QB we thought he could be and worthy of the number 3 pick.
I'm all for taking Lawrence, but Darnold can still be good enough to win a SB...he's better than Sanchez who got them to two AFCCGs. I'm not saying that I prefer sticking with Sam, but if they don't get the #1 pick, it doesn't necessarily mean all is lost. That said, if they retain Gase, then yes, all IS lost.
By the way. Josh Allen isn't anything special either. So is Mayfield. They are all average at best. What a hyped up class that was. Makes me wonder if Trevor Lawrence is another clone of avg QB's. I don't know man. Tired of losing.
