I guess. More blame probably lies on the coaches/trainers. I'm just salty today.

But honestly, the only picks I liked from the draft were Mims and Mann. Maybe Hall could be a steal.

Perine isn't being used like horseshit, he is horseshit. He wasn't very good at Florida, he's not going to be good in the NFL. I mean just look at yesterday. Ty Johnson comes in and is by far the most explosive RB on the roster. Gaskin is a far better prospect. Just look around the league. You can throw at a dart at a team's roster and find a better young rb. Hated the pick then. Hate it even more now.

Davis looked like trash before his injury. But he's fast and has a cool back story so YAY for us.

I'm not going to hold my breath on Zuniga being some monster pass rusher.

And please, someone explain why the hell he took Morgan? I'm being serious.

Not being argumentative, but I didn't love the draft when it happened and I feel he's going to get a pass on some of these players because of injury.

This upcoming offseason is the most important one the Jets will have in a very long time. The honeymoon period is over JD. He needs to hit a HR on the next HC. The new HC will have to hit a HR on his coaching staff especially the OC and Quarterbacks coach who will be responsible for TL developing into a franchise QB. JD will have to have a strong draft and not just drafting Lawrence. We have a lot of picks in the early rounds so he will have to bring in the talent around TL.

I think it is a little early to say that especially in a pandemic year with so many injuries and no pre-season. Next year will be a better test for rookies.

I liked Perine in college. But I never imagined him as anything more than having a ceiling like Powell - a solid backup RB. I don't think you really look to draft guys like that. You can get bellcow runningbacks in the 2nd-4th so why draft a guy who looks like a career backup that doesn't really play special teams in a large contributing fashion?

Davis made no sense to me either although he was a fantastic tackler in college and apart of a really good well coached defense. Zuniga is understandable. High upside guy at a position that's been a dumpster fire for us for 15 years.

I liked the pick of Morgan. But in hindsight if he's not even available to be an active QB3 or QB2 once Darnold is hurt and the season is over, was he really worth it? I think you keep taking QB's until you find your guy. That's how you can magically end up with Dak or Russell Wilson.

Didn't like Mims. One trick pony at Baylor. You have to hope he develops into a route runner because he (like most Big 12 receivers not named CeeDee Lamb) just ran by the worst defensive backs in the nation all year. Not much of a technician. Hopefully I'm wrong.

The draft looks like dogshit right now. Hopefully 2-3 of these guys develop into starters or contributors outside of Becton.

So you are claiming Perine is horseshit based on 22 carries this season? He "wasn't very good at Florida"? Really? I have MANY friends who are Gators fans, especially considering I live in Florida, who would tell you that you are dead ass wrong about him not being very good there LOL

Almost everyone on this board knows damn well that Perine has been used like shit with Gase. That is a fact, no matter how you want to spin it.

Why was Morgan taken? No idea. We needed a backup QB and Douglas felt he needed to take him there. I can agree that this was probably a bad pick. I do not think many doubt that.

And of course he deserves a pass on injuries. It is extremely hard to truly gauge his draft when half the players are on the IR.

Over the next two drafts we have 4 first round picks. Our 2 + Seattle 2 = 4. Hello.

I’m on the fence about JD still. It’s really simple why.. If we have a shot at a high profile coach like Harbaugh or Riley and they want their own guy as a lap cat GM at JDs expense then so be it. If a high profile coach is out of reach and we are hiring a coordinator for a coach then I’m all for keeping JD.

Trevor Lawrence, immense cap space and a multitude of picks is the best start of a rebuild you can ask for so let’s make sure we don’t F this up by hiring the wrong coach. Reach for the stars!!

Sam's future with the Jets, his big 2nd contract, his future in the NFL really, all comes down to winning one, JUST ONE GAME.

bah... we're so far ahead of those losers we can afford to just throw our versatile running back out on the street and just roll on without him :)

I actually wanna see Morgan play, even if it’s later on in the year. Let’s trade Flacco and make him the 2

That would guarantee us the #1 pick. Not a bad idea.

Well, that’s an added and probably superior benefit, but wasn’t my original thought. I’m in full blown evaluation, get stuff on tape for the next guy, and cash ppl out mode.

It's hard to see how the Jets could keep Gase without a strong second half to pin it on. The credibility of the organization, always in doubt, would be torn to shreds if they opened 2021 with Gase as the head coach after the kind of debacle 2020 turned into. Assuming they finished with just enough wins to lose the Lawrence sweepstakes, like 2 or 3, there'd be nobody coming to the building to watch the Jets with Darnold/Gase - round 3 as the primary attraction.

If they got Lawrence then the prevailing question would be: what can Gase do to ruin a generational talent?

At times I've felt we were underselling Gase's potential however watching the Jets this season has made it pretty clear that Gase is ill-equipped to deal with a poor talent base and incapable of making the changes necessary to get some control of the situation.

There's just no way the Jets are better off right now with his nose buried in the playsheet as games disintegrate around him. Things can't get worse if he starts actually coaching on the sidelines instead of calling plays. I don't mean that because he will add something positive as a coach, however the Jets are at rock-bottom on offense right now and it can't get worse than that with Mickey Mouse calling the plays instead of Gase.

I agree, but I'd also like to see if he can be the "poor man's Mahomes" I think he could be based on what I saw of him in college. All those people trashing this pick apparently forget that Brady was a 6th round pick. I'm not saying that Morgan is another Brady, but until we see him play we won't know.

100%! Now, we all know what he’ll probably be, but now’s the time to see for sure!
