I agree with you that it's unlilely they could trade Crowder for a 1st round pick, but it's a hypothetical and Douglas over-performed when he traded Adams. So, who knows?
Yes. While I don't think it's realistic either, the answer would probably have to be a consensus yes to a first round pick for Crowder.
Looks like Big Baby is up for grabs as well. I would gladly take a 1st for him, think he's overrated and we could use the pick on a more premium position. I think a 1 and 3 is fair.
Why in the hell would you do that? You might not need him this year but who's gong to play the position next year? There are already way more than one year's worth of holes to fill - how many years do they want this program to go on? I would think the league might get involved if a few more starters disappeared.
Fk defense. We QUIT on defense when we traded away Jamal. Might as well trade Q too. This way we can have 5 first round picks over the next two years and use all 5 on OFFENSE. Our D stinks with Q anyways... And he's obviously not a difference maker.
Good riddens Q. And to the guy above who said “who will replace him?” I think we’ve seen that er can get by without top 5 picks at this position. 3-4 IDL isn’t a “premium” position. Poole can go too, while I’d love to keep him, he’s on a 1 year deal and will leave anyway. Jenkins can go w/him. Crowder I’m mixed about, while he’s got value I want him here. Lawrence or Darnold is gonna need someone with skill, and he could be it. However I doubt he’ll resign after next year, so if we cash him out, I’m cool!
He was 3rd pick 2 yrs ago! Really, I don’t see this. What’s the point, top 5 picks Are valuable, as you should get top player at premium position. Can’t keep drafting then trade for Lower picks. Looks defeating to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We going for a 5 year rebuild here??? Q on the block??? God I hate the nfl draft sometimes. It's like a casino for bad teams
Yeah, you can only fill so many slots on a 53 man roster with fresh draft picks..... As far as dumping Crowder goes, is Sam (or whatever new QB) going to have ANYONE experienced to throw too?
The 2021 class will probably the thinnest and weakest in recent memory with the NCAA granting a one year eligibility extension to all fall athletes whether their team played or sat out the season. They will still need to be concerned with a career ending injury but many will prefer to wait and hope to play a full season next year to showcase their talents.
Why would that be the case? A lot of players have already declared for the draft and opted out of playing the season. It's a dream for a player that thought they were NFL ready as a sophomore and planned to declare. Either abbreviated play or not playing at all and no questions about their motives in doing so.
Because many who are unsure of their current value get a free year to improve it and many would prefer to go out on a full season rather than a shortened one. I don't know how active NFL scouts have been during the pandemic or what kind of combine activity will occur in the spring. This article gives a pretty good idea of the current uncertainty. https://www.pff.com/news/draft-covid-19-scouting-college-football-2021-nfl-draft
If someone offered a first round pick for him that I thought would be in the #12-18 range. I'd fly in from the UK, rent a car and drive him to his new team, then fly out and willingly self-isolate for 14 days.
