What is use releasing him now, we suck at RB. Gore is 37 and runs hard but past his time. Perine has showed nothing!! And couple of scrubs. Now our RB room worse than WR room. We hardly have NFL level players. And you cut former pro bowler. All by like we drafted his replacement and want to see how he is. Makes 0 sense, looks like trying to appease the coach that never wanted him. Who by the way should have been fired last yr, if not last week. JD cmon man, bad business!

And what evidence do you have that Gase got his way, guy?

Yeah there's some dark conspiracy behind the scenes that Gase pulls all the strings and that Douglas is just a puppet.

Give me a fuckin break. This move has Douglas written all over it. Gase will be gone at the end of the season.

You said he was a huge cap hit. So how's that help cap next season by cutting him today? It doesn't. I agree that he needed to go at end of the season (next years cap).

Perrine should have been getting the second RB snaps all along, not Gore.

You have a hard time seeing things it seems. Weren't you one of the staunch gase defenders until fairly recently?

Not only was Gase not a fan, but signing Bell to a mega contract is something JD never would have done either.

Again, a veteran running back that has dealt with injuries and does not look the same as he did before, should not be taking up any room on the cap.

With this move, Jets are on the hook for 15 mil in dead cap this season, but will save 9 million next season.

I think I speak for most jets fans when I say Le'Veon was a class act and hope he goes somewhere where he can prosper.

Prior to Gase' arrival Jamal Adams and Leveon were our 2 best players - they are both gone. Gase history of ridding the team of its best talent continues.

Because Gase is notorious for dumping good players who call him out for being a terrible coach.

I don't have a problem with this. If Gase isn't going to use him, he's doing just as much good for us by being cut as he is by being on the team.

Now, of course, you know he's signing with the Patriots. Can't wait for that butt kicking.

Right. We're also 0-5. Season was over 3 weeks ago.

I really don't get these posters who don't see the clear pattern with Adam Gase. You'd think the guy was a coordinator we pulled off the streets and need to give him a shot. This is going exactly how it did in miami in quicker time. We have evidence of him doing the same shit there and here it's just coincidence? Come on.

I don't know what to say anymore. Clearly punting on the season. I wouldn't be surprise if others are cut and/or traded soon. McDougald/Williamson etc.

What's the difference. Give the snaps to Perine now.

I was never for the Bell signing but Gase didn't get his way. Removing Bell may make him look like less of an idiot coach than he really is because now no one will say why isn't he involving Gore / Perine / etc. more. It takes a long stretch to say it makes a difference in people's perception of Gase. He's still an idiot head coach. JD is dumping guys that aren't part of the future, haven't shown they can return to form but bitch and moan about touches. Cut the cancer now, secure a better draft pick and show that prima donna players with no skills left will not hijack this team. Then he needs to lobby Chris / Woody to dump crazy eyes. if crazy eyes stays it kills all that JD is trying to do to change the culture of this team. This is not a Gase move its JD showing this is his roster and he will mold it his way.

I am in a loss for words on how incompetent this team is! Who releases their starting RB week 5? Because he hurt little Gases feelings! Maybe JD has to go too.

Sounds about right. We could have, you know, held onto him and traded him next season for maybe a mid-round pick and a conditional 3rd or 2nd the next year if he produces. But nooooo, let's just dump him now and get nothing because he's got the nerve to be pissed off about being on an embarrassing, shitty team and playing for a coach who hates him.

I don't know if 2020 is a perfect allegory for the Jets or vise versa.
