Yeah but you're missing the point that the Packers don't trade picks or overpay anything. They were way out of their own league signing the Smith's a couple years ago - it was pretty shocking. Go through their roster each year and you'll see it's mostly always drafted and developed players. Easy to do when you go Favre to Rodgers but still. He was released so it didn't matter. But they weren't trading capital for him or taking on that contract.
Umm, one, Douglas never signed him. Was a large hit on the cap. Second, he has NEVER showed any burst he used to have. Pretty easy move to make. In fact, I've been saying it every time I watch him play. Just get rid of him
pretty much. EVERYONE hates this asshole yet we are going to keep him here to completely burn the whole dame thing down? Douglas is becoming a joke. What sense does releasing him NOW make? I'd demand Gase give him the ball 100 times a game if I had to to at least showcase SOMETHING to get SOMETHING via a trade.
Completely disagree. He has looked like shit for 2 years now. I understand the play calling is shitty and the offensive line hasn't been great, but he has looked slow and like shit
We still have 37 yr old gore, and Perine. Plus few FAs off the street. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
He doesn't have game left. He has shown no burst whatsoever. And from everything I read, we were trying to get a late round pick or player. The fact that no one gave anything proves he is not what he used to be.
I was all for giving him a chance but every week that goes by I lose more and more trust in him. It's like he just acts off of emotion and doesn't think things through.
Watch some runs he had last yr they were highlight reel with absolutely no blocking. Gase just got his way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We? It's fucking Woody's money.. I love it make that moron owner see what it costs to make shit signings of players and worse a shit hiring of a loser coach
We save no money this year cutting him right now. Sure, cut him at the end of the season. Hes got more burst than Frank Gore!
Gase didn't get his way LOL You guys that keep spewing this shit, sound fuckin ridiculous. Douglas is not an idiot and Douglas isn't being controlled by Adam Gase. Douglas sees the writing on the wall and has made it a point to build a team for long term success through the draft. A high dollar veteran running back with injuries and suspect ability does not fit that mold.
It's amazing to me people.still think Bell is 2017 Bell....they couldn't get anything for him and he was never getting the rest of his contract anyway...so he was being released now or in the offseason what difference does it make?
It's not about saving money right now. In fact, Gase is now forced to use Perrine, which is a blessing
Gase 10000% got his way. You think this was just Joe Douglas planting his flag and saying he’s not gonna build a team with high dollar RBs? Come on guy.
We'll see about that. He's a read and run rusher. Very patient. Always was. He's a good pass catcher as well.
Why would we at all be worried about his cap hit when his cap hit will actually go down next year and we have a shitload of cap space?
