I would agree with you but as I said, I believe the Jets have to be tanking and therefore firing Gase now doesn’t help that cause and just puts more light on JD. Douglas has five years left on his contract, he’s safe. This year is a lost cause and while I’d love to see Gase out the door tomorrow, if you’re tanking (I think they are) why would they pull the trigger now?
Spot on, you nailed this one. It was obvious to pretty much everyone (except Jets owner) after Gase's offense stunk for the 4th year in a row while recently dumped Tannehill all of the sudden became top QB that Gase is absolute shit of a coach, and hence needs to be fired immediately. It's for that same exact reason that now Jets must keep him around until the season ends. There is nothing to play for this season but Trevor Lawrence. Gase gives the best chance of getting him.

This will probably be the Johnson's next genius hire. Another guy who is an "offensive genius" who actually had decent offensive pieces and always had middling offenses.

We have a legitimate shot with Gase as HC. So far best performance was a 9 point home loss against previously winless team with a 3d string QB. Lawrence is a real possibility at this point and clueless and vastly incompetent Gase might just be the ticket.
I think players didn’t like O’Brien. I think most players like Gase well enough he just hasn’t done a good job. Only a couple of players have actually said anything very negative about Gase in reality.

This may be changing for the better - I thought for a minute, using the same Jets way logic, that they will beat Broncos, especially after they lead late in the game. But, there may be a real change on the horizon and Jets can tank it all way.
