Easy , a team that knows his potential. He's still a franchise caliber player. The posters here that don't think so are blind to the fact that Darnold has been playing on a poorly coached poorly provided personnel. Their coaching especially, sucks. Gase/ Tannehill team was a disaster. Don't think teams are not aware of this.

As I mentioned Tampa and Pittsburgh.

Say the name again... Travis Fulgham. Tired of hearing this talk about the Jets have no WRs.

I disagree I do believe you need a great QB to win an SB or a QB playing great at the very least.

And just for the record, you don't need a Peyton Manning to take you to the SB. Look at Eli Mannings first 3 years in the league statistic wise. You would never guess by those stats what happened in 2008.

Jeff Smith catches that ball dude. Sam had a chance to make that play and under threw him vs. Denver and the ball was knocked away. That guy's been on three times since the start of 2019.

The almighty Travis Fulgham was signed to the Eagles on August 20th and waived 14 days later to be added to the practice squad and was called up when Jackson & Reagor went down. Wentz might be playing with more backups than Sam is right now.

It's not the point. Of course he's better. But the point is that sometimes quarterbacks needs to grab games by the balls and go win them when everything's working against them. Wentz did it in equally difficult circumstances on the road yesterday against the same team that squashed us. If Wentz can do that in those circumstances on the road across the country, then why can't Sam do it at home against the Broncos on a short week and cross country travel?

He needs to get better. And sometimes, he plays bad and it's his fault. That's the nature of the position. They can be the reason you win games and the reason you lose games. And there are times when they might be neither but when given a late opportunity they need to go win games.

He needs to seize those opportunities. He didn't. He was 3 for 6 with 25 yards and a sack and turnover on downs on 4th and 3 when he had that chance. That's not the coaches fault. That's not the play callers fault. That's on him.

I sure as shit hope not.

    playing Flacco gets us NOWHERE

he is not the future...if the determination is that Sam sucks and needs to sit, I’d sooner put in Morgan to see if he’s any good

A real killer at Old Dominion. One thousand yard season.

    https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/travis-fulgham-1.html

That throw from Wentz might have bought him 3 years in the league as a #5 receiver. Wentz's #1 receiver right now is a converted college QB learning the position in Greg Ward (to be fair - I like the kid).

Of course it's easier to do, but it can be done without one as long as the rest of the team - and coaching - is great. And the QB has to be at least decent. IDK if Darnold can be good enough (or better), but as long as he plays for lousy coaches and with lousy talent around him we can't know.

At this point I almost hope he gets traded to a good team and proves all the doubters here wrong.

Wouldn't be surprised either. The injuries will take care of themselves. They may win some surprising games and be out of the lawrence sweepstakes. I'm fine with that. Too many here making crazy assumptions.

Lawrence is not coming to the Jets. Because he won't play this for this crappy organization. Book it!

You continue to conveniently ignore the effect of his past experiences, along with the current shitty playcalling and coaching. IDK what to tell you but you've got a case of the ass against Darnold. Maybe you're just done with him and want to move on, but you're not being objective.

Wentz looked pretty bad throwing the ball yesterday. The eagles defense won that game.

There is zero chance that sound ownership like the Rooney's would ever trade draft capital for a guy like Darnold. They'll do things the right way, draft a young QB and indoctrinate him into their system.

The Buccaneers are trying to win a SB this year or next year. Similar to Denver when Peyton went their. Their draft capital is going to immediate contributors (they forced a trade up they shouldn't have made last year to make sure they got Wirfs) and that's it. They're not looking for a young QB with turnover issues or they would've brought Jameis back.

The only team I could see making a risky move for Darnold is New Orleans. And they're not giving you higher than a 3rd or 4th at his 5th year cap number. It's just not practical to trade for Sam and lock yourself in at $25 million whether you have a QB or not.

Oh enough with past experiences dude. I did nothing but read this same thing about Sanchez. How sensitive he was and the confidence issues and yada yada.

It's a factor but it doesn't stop a players career in their tracks.

He's not playing well right now. He hasn't shown a lot in his NFL career. He's not a franchise quarterback right now at all. Talent, potential, whatever. You have to call the games as you see them. He's not a good player right now and he absolutely cannot will teams to victory like the good QB's in this league can do and do do. Whether they're young or not.

Go watch those two clips I posted from Sabo earlier in this thread. There are multiple plays every week that he just straight up misses. That has nothing to do with playcalling and coaching, those are wide open free plays that any starting QB should make or see. That is extremely concerning.

I do not give a shit what Sabo says... fact of the matter is he was sacked 6 times and took 10 hits last game... not to mention running for your life every time you drop back in every game this season. Or about RB missing blitzars or WR that rarely and I mean rarely get open. But hey Sabo why don't you get behind the line and see how you perform. I know one thing, when SAM is not there the team can do shit.

So when the WRs are open and i mean OPEN it’s someone else’s fault? Sam doesn’t deserve all the blame but he isn’t playing good. It’s okay to blame him...

At this point, Sams biggest fans will be there until the end. There’s no amount of video evidence or poor play that will change their minds. It’s always something else holding him back from greatness.
