Two straight red zone trips, Gore ran up the middle on first and second down. Then on one of the trips Gase had FRANK GORE run a wheel route on third. Hands down the worst coach I have ever seen in my life.
https://www.radio.com/wfan/sports/jets/report-gase-not-in-trouble-of-losing-job-after-thursday awesome.....0-16 here we come.
Christopher Johnson will go down as the owner who pissed away the Jets best opportunity of having a franchise qb, because of his stupidity and then doubled down on his bad decision, effectively disallowing any hope of Darnold showing he can be a FQB. First pick in the 2021 draft here we come
How is it possible that the head coach who's an offensive minded guy and is supposed to be grooming the 'franchise' QB didn't see the play where he got hurt until later? Exactly what was he doing at the time?
On that wheel route, hogan was WIDE OPEN underneath. Like there wasn’t anyone within 7 yards of him. I don’t know if they see 1 on 1 it’s automatically take a shot to Gore but holy shit hogan was wide open by miles.
I think last night was the final nail in the coffin of my belief in Darnold as a franchise QB. Whether or not it's him or the coaching staff that ruined him, 3rd year FQBs don't still take bad sacks, stare down their targets, throw into coverage, miss open receivers on throws, miss open receivers by not noticing them at all and going somewhere else.....utterly disheartening. He showed some brilliance last night, of course, but that only serves to show that he can be an adequate QB with proper guidance, or a great backup, or maybe, at best, a good QB who can't get a team over the top (now I'm being optimistic again.......) But I no longer feel he is "the guy". The Jets have done it again.
When does it go past selfish and into something more severe? I fully expect Becton will miss at least next week and probably more. If he sat he'd be fine for next week.
What I don't understand is that so many people STILL think that Gase is an excellent coach! He's never had any success ANYWHERE. "Oh, he doesn't have any talent to work with here..." Bull. Fucking. Shit. Bill Parcells went 9-7 with almost the same exact team that went 1-15 under Kotite the year before. I don't wanna hear about lack of talent. A good coach finds ways to make things happen. This team isn't Super Bowl ready; they may not even be an above .500 team. But they aren't even showing up to play. That's not on the talent. That's on the coaching.
Well we all know what he is now. Still it is tempting to have him see out the season and hand us the 1 pick tbh.
Uh, not at all. Gase is a terrible head coach and should have been fired a long time ago. Calling for his head 4 games into his tenure when he was playing his 3rd string QB was still nonsense.
Gase doesn't understand football. He was finally in a game. 4th and half a yard. You go for it. Get the 1st down. Run more clock. Try to get in the end zone to make it 32-28. It forces the 3rd string QB to score a touchdown for the win. Unlikely. Even if you get stuffed (which they wouldn't have) you just need to get a stop and give the ball to Sam one last time to get in FG range. When he kicked the field goal, I just had a gut feeling the Jets would lose, because it was such a bitch and cowardly move. It's Thursday night football. (0-3) vs. (0-3). Not the AFC Championship. You go for it. That signaled to me that he was a loser and coaching scared. He was just happy to have a lead for a second. Pretty embarrassing.
I am pretty sure the emails I post to NYJ.com get shit canned before the reach CJ and JD... Its to bad because I use some of your (collectively) comments to boost my comments. Today's installment was a congratulatory message to both for achieve a new milestone in JET lore; Winning the trifecta. I told them they could boast to the sports word that they accomplished something no other team has...losing to three winless teams with a HC that is coaching to where FB is going. Its helps my sobriety...
It blew my mind that they didn't go for it. Another thing about that situation to show how shitty Gase is as a coach - when you watch a quality team.. Brees and Payton.. BB and whatever QB they have.. Redi and Mahomes.. Harbough and Lamar.. they are discussing the upcoming plans of what they want to do. They are figuring something out to run. That challenge/review on Crowders catch was so long there was easily enough to figure something out and discuss what you like or dislike. Gase and Sam didn't speak at all!!! what the hell was that??
Honestly, I disagree completely. You kick the field goal and take the lead with 6:40 to go all day every day. Let's say you get the first down, run three more plays and don't get in the end zone and end up in a 4th + 9 and have to kick the field goal? You just burned another 2 minutes off the clock and really set them up with a chance to win the game on a last second field goal. Or even worse, you get TWO first downs and don't get in the end zone. We got the ball back with 3:08 left. If we have a legitimate linebacker on the field we would've gotten the ball back twice and had two cracks out of it (i.e. if Gordon doesn't run for a 50 yard score). With four minutes or less I might agree with you. But that's a chip shot field goal and a guaranteed lead.
youre right . until the last part......it happens alt the time becaue it happens in a split second. Im sure you know this dude
