Figured it out : I think the Johnsons asked Douglas what to do with Gase, Williams and the (mostly) scrubs we have playing for us Joe Douglas wants us to full on tank for Laurence and window dress the Team till the Draft and FA...this is in line with his philosophy of accumulating picks and building the Jets thru the Draft PLUS he saves face for his "friend" A Gase and the embarrassment of being fired 4 games into the NFL Season of COVID In the meantime the Fans suffer 12 more weeks of this...after all what difference is 1 year tacked on to 51 with no SB? lmao But there is not a snowballs chance in hell S Darnold and Gase are around in january 2021
I agree with the first part of the post. At 0-3 now 0-4. This season is over and this staff will not be here next season, and i beleive that decision has been made. However, deciding whats best for the long yerm future of the team. 1-15 and the #1 pick or 4-12 and pick #5. I think this staff is being kept on for the higher chance of having #1. Week 17 comes, sack everyone, clear the staff and full reset under Joe's guidance with a qb to trade, trevor Lawrence and a new staff. Sent from my SM-G610Y using Tapatalk
Who the hell is involved in that decision making process? It must be Wyatt, Gase and his monkey. Getting them out of there and giving Darnold some help and an evaluation is the only reason to play out the season.
So, no chance Darnold will be around in January? And that's because Douglas is sure they'll have the number one pick and he's sure Lawrence won't decide to stay in school, and he's sure Lawrence will be the next Jets franchise quarterback? Forgive me if I say this sounds way too familiar but how will they get the guarantee on Lawrence when they couldn't get one on Darnold? Hopefully, this is all conjecture, and bad conjecture at that. Hopefully, there is no misguided loyalty on the part of Douglas that would keep Gase here or blow Darnold out before he was given a decent chance to work with a real quarterbacks coach and a real offensive coordinator. Hopefully the exhibition of douchebaggery that the Jets put on in the last few seconds of last night's game would be enough to make anyone reconsider keeping Gase around.
This guy is completely lost, if he ever was found. How could he not lose the team when he has no answer for anything. How can the owners not see it?
Not at all. I stand behind this post 1000% I guess you have missed my posts for the past 2 weeks saying that he needs to be fired because what he's done this year is a disgrace. In fact, maybe you have missed my posts for the past year stating that Gase's fate will be determined this year because last year it was not fair whatsoever to blame him for that season. I never said Gase was the answer. I always said that this year would be his test. When he had more time to implement his offense. When he had less injuries. And when he had his starting QB. Only then could you make a determination of his future. And as I posted multiple times, he needs to be fired based on this shit product he has produced so far
No reason to be embarrassed over this team. You aren't the one on the field or producing the product on the field. Just sit back and laugh at the idiots in charge. Embrace the 0-16
Dressing Becton as an emergency and then bringing Darnold back in on 3rd and 5 were two of the most selfish coaching acts I've ever seen. I don't give a fuck if your job is on the line - you don't do that to your core players. Selfish as hell.
Missed the game what did he do to Sam? I see that Flacco got in the game but haven't read or seen any highlights, just parked up on my break atm.
Flacco came in and the idiot put Sam back in while the team had it 3rd and 5. Next play Sam gets sacked.. Why would you bring him when its 3rd & 5??
Just feel the need to point out that if Gregg Williams defense hadn't take a half dozen really stupid penalties last night the Jets win going away. That's part of his shtick: encourage his players to get physical with the QB and try to get him out of his comfort zone. Last night they went overboard on it and it cost the Jets bigtime. The Quinnen Williams helmet grab was truly horrible. How the hell can anybody grab any part of the helmet or facemask at this point knowing that the officials have their flags on a hair trigger for helmet contact?
Gase and his brilliant mind led us on ONE touchdown drive and it was because Sam housed it from 50 yards out. Gase sure is brilliant mind... That defense had 3 takeaways and housed one, there is no excuse for Gase and the offense to score one touchdown in a league where offensive scoring is breaking records.
This is all true, but on a night when the Jets should have won they didn't and the main reason was they wouldn't let the Broncos offense get off the field.
Sam got body slammed to the turf. It luckily wasn't a seperated shoulder. Gase put Flacco in for a few plays and then put Sam back in. He even put Becton back in after Becton told him he couldn't go and eventually, had to come out of the game again. Selfish HC trying to save his job no matter the costs.
I disagree. The D didn't play well, but they scored as many points as the offense! They lost last night because they lacked offensive scoring. They had plenty of short fields and did nothing.
They had the Broncos 4th and 12 (after the sack that would have been) and committed their 6th personal foul of the game to give them a 1st down and keep them on the field with 5 minutes to go in the game. 6 personal fouls in one game by the defense. How is that possible? Gregg Williams. It's what he does.
The way Becton was handled Gase should’ve been fired midway through the first Qtr. That was one of the most disgraceful things I’ve seen in all my years watching football. With that said, I still want him to coach out the year and live with an 0-16 team on his resume for eternity.
I have been fairly supportive of Gase, feeling we need to take the roster more into account, and to weigh his dreadful start last year with his more impressive finish (e.g., scoring on opening drives) That said, he and more importantly Sam have regressed. Last couple of weeks he's not even seeing guys who are wide open. Not sure what's going on there Can't believe they didn't go for it with fourth and a foot. Still think farily firmly Gase will play this string out. There are no saviors for this season. Either they regroup and rebound or they don't I wish our team wasn't so depleted. Would like to give Desir and Herndon among other their walking papers.
