I am conflicted. I hate myself for feeling like this but I can't get myself excited for rooting for a win tonight. I hate losing but I also hate winning with Gase as well. So my final vote is I hope we lose. What says you?
I agree, its probably best to keep him for the full year, so : 1. We crash and burn and get that 1st pick in the draft 2. We get a better choice of new Head Coach than we would by starting to search mid season
Sort of a take off on Branch Rickey's saying: "Addition by subtraction", referring to getting rid of a player who drags the team down..."Winning by losing".
A win achieves nothing at this point other than delaying the inevitable - yet another complete do over
This is the only winnable game on the schedule and I'd prefer not to go 0-16 so I'd like a win. Sti expecting a loss though
If we fire Gase I think we will win a few. Let's get rid of Gase first. We will worry about wins later
I personally don’t give a damn, I don’t care if this team wins or loses. Not all of our problems are Gase’s fault, but this team will NEVER win with him as the HC. For the sake of the poll I hope they lose big by half so I can go to sleep.
Am I supposed to feel guilty for rooting for a loss? The Jets should feel guilty for putting us in this position.
A loss. And I start watching this shitshow at 1.20am with a 6.40am commute to work ahead of me. I love this rancid team.
I want us to win. I'm not going to stay up all through the night to see us lose to a shitty Broncos team with a third string QB. And even if we lose, I don't think Johnsons are going to fire Gase anyway...
I never since 1965 rooted for the Jets to lose until now. Gase has to go, & I wouldn't mind trading the first pick in the Draft for a haull of picks. I like Darnold but if he doesn't show signs of life the wrest of the season, trade him & take Lawrence. But I do want Sam to succeed. It's all about getting Gase fired.
True fans here. If you ever cross the pond, I promise. Your Upper Deck Sideline tickets plus your tailgate on me. Mad respect for European fans.
If we win this game tonight I will unleash a rant of unbounded rage on this forum. Whoever loses this takes the drivers seat for trevor. A win could have everlasting damage on this franchise. This is our super bowl this is the most important jet game since 2010
I'll be conflicted for sure. A blowout loss could spell the end of Gase, so that's worth rooting for. But you hate to see it.
A win tonight would be nothing more than a Pyrrhic victory, which has been the case with just about every win they've had over the past 10 years. Every success they've had in recent history has done nothing but give a false illusion of progress, and lower their position in the draft. It's time to implode and rebuild.
Rooting for a loss in week 4 is whack. Sorry it is. Everyone thinks we have a franchise quarterback here in Sam Darnold. If he's a franchise quarterback he needs to start winning games and tonight would be a good start. If we go 1-15, it means he absolutely sucks and I don't really want to hear anyone else defending him. Matthew Stafford has probably had the worst running game for the better half of the last decade and he's willed his teams to 7 wins in years where the teams were bad. Brees and Rivers too. The Texans have a trash roster, traded away their best player in the off-season and have an airhead for a head coach that helped dwindle a 24-0 lead in a playoff game last year. Do you think they've declared the tank on? Let's get some wins and have some players develop into a starters and get the Jets on the right track. Losing breeds more losing and means players we are looking to count on over the next three years have gotten worse.
I never root for a loss, but I’m coming awfully close this time. Loosing is the biggest demoralizer for young players and I hate that. My hope is not necessarily to get the number one pick in 2021 but the best fucking HC ever. Whatever path is best. But not too many jewels in the rough would want to coach a 0-16 team, especially in NY.
This I can really rally behind Vilma. I’m so frustrated is sickening. Had lots of hope for Sam. He needs to rise above his current lack of confidence and the usual BS conservative game plan and make something click.
