You guys are forgetting that the Jets do egregious stuff all the time on the football field, so Gase could still be gone on Friday.
Might not be too popular here and probably extremely unlikely but I would love to see Josh McDaniels. He probably has a promise to replace BB but who knows if you don’t try. BB had a deal to coach Jets and bailed for Pats. Parcels bailed on the Pats to go to the Jets. Jets fire Carroll and the Pats hire him. So coaches moving between the 2 organizations is not unheard of.
I don't think I would want McDaniels. He failed in his first HC gig pretty badly. If he rehabilitates Cam, I might change my mind, but right now, he would be a last resort.
Unfortunately it seems that egregious in this case is getting blown out again, which is a possibility, but an unlikely one given how bad the broncos are. Hughes said if they lose low scoring game, a shootout, or they flat out win he's not going anywhere.
I disagree, I have not seen one name mentioned that I think is a better candidate for any team. HC and NFL experience are both important. The HC experience can be in college if he also has been on a NFL staff before, Not a big fan of the hot coordinator of the year with no HC experience. They fail at an alarmingly high rate. Pete Carroll was a young coach and fired after 1 season with the Jets when the team fell apart at the end of season. Bill B was pretty bad in Cleveland. Josh was just way too young to be an NFL head coach at the time. A lot of time has passed since then for him to mature and grow. I am not a fan of hiring a guy who failed and was just fired. The Jets did this twice, with Kotite and then Gase. Which is one reason I hated the hire. We all know how that goes. Hiring a guy who has had time to learn and grow from his mistakes in a winning organization for a decade is totally different. If we are in a position to land Trevor Lawrence and JD can communicate a vision and plan to upgrade the talent to candidates - we may be able to attract decent candidates.
Been here before. I think the jets will make rypien look like his uncle in his heyday with redskins... going to be miserable game to watch, but of course I will. Lol. Haven’t missed one in 20 yrs... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'd take McDaniels in a heartbeat. Charlie Weis, Crennel, Mangini (for obvious reasons), Jim Schwartz, etc. have never worked with Belichick again after they left. He took McDaniels back after only three years away. I think he had a messiah complex when he went to Denver. As if he was going to turn every offense into the leagues best just by his presence. I'd have to imagine he has zero interest in coming here though. Even without Luck the Colts were a much better situation and he didn't go there.
No Fucking Way and not because he’s a Patriot per se, but because he sucks he already had a shot and shit the bed in Denver..if I recall he made bad personnel decisions there too didn’t he? and then the shit he pulled with Indy, accepting the job then backing out last minute...that’s a shit move by a shit person. none, and I mean none, of the Patriot assistants has done shit on their own....Romeo Crenell, Matt Patricia, Josh McDaniels, Bill O Brien, Charlie Weiss, they all suck. Mangini was marginal. I may be forgetting a couple others there too. Brian Flores may be the best of the bunch time will tell but he looks like he may have it. I want NO part of any NE assistant ever.
That's fine. Disagreement is what makes this place interesting. If we all thought the same and agreed on everything, it would be boring. You could be right. The other thing that bothers me is that every single one of BB's disciples have failed badly as HCs. Maybe with time and maturity, McDaniels will be a lot better. If JD gets to make the hire, I will trust his decision. If the Johnsons are making the decision, I won't.
At least we all agree Gase has to check out and never come back To lose on Nat TV tomorrow and still have AG coaching this team for weeks going forward is just adding insult to injury for Jets fans CJ should just cut his losses and only look a little dumb instead of coming off as a complete moron by Xmas
Well, Cowherd says Gase is gone and Hughes says he stays. I'd propose the proper method of letting each have his say in supporting their point of view is to have a debate. Now, who can they get to be the moderator?
Gase is a good coach actually. The problem is the other 31 coaches are better than him. The Jets owners never try to find a coach who is at least average or better than most other coaches. That's how we ended up with Gase, Bowles,Mangini, Edwards and others. I am hesitant to say Ryan because he took us to winnable championships games. It was downhill after that.
https://www.nfl.com/news/jets-coach-adam-gase-s-job-status-not-hanging-in-balance-tonight 'According to those informed of the decision-making, the thinking is that firing Gase would not only be counterproductive in general but also potentially damaging to quarterback Sam Darnold .' Absolute brain dead wankers, keeping Gase is wrecking Darnold, you utter imbeciles.
I'd take Daniels in a heartbeat. I remember reading a piece somewhere where he talked about his stint in Denver, the mistakes he made and the lessons he learnt (on some excel sheet iirc) so he would be ready to answer the call if the opportunity came his way again. I do not think he would ever want to come to New Jersey though. If we do end up in a #1 Pick = Trevor Lawrence situation then I'd like to see the next guy handed a 4-5 year contract and told that he, JD and Lawrence are now linked in terms of employment.
I said that in earlier post, Jets have habit of saying the opposite of what they are doing. If we look miserable on national tv, believe me he is gone. But otherwise he will be gone by end of yr. the logic behind keeping him for Darnolds sake is ludicrous.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
