Agreed. Ideally, Darnold looks SOMEWHAT managable to re-sign and we trade a HAUL for #1 but at this rate, that doesn't seem to be the case. We take the number 1 QB when you can. Unforunate we lost so many picks fro Sam trading up. That can't happen again. Embrace the tank.
What do we think about fields the QB from OSU? Is he worth a look If we somehow need a QB but miss out on Lawrence? Sent from my VS987 using Tapatalk
Just like USC Qb's and even OSU for that matter, do we know if they are truly good? But, I think Fields is a bit different and has played well on the big stage. Reminds me of Russell Wilson in a way.
It's the throwing motion. I don't like to compare players to Wilson because he's so unique and incredibly but Fields has the same exact motion (both were baseball players). Fields is a tough prospect for me. He was obviously amazing last year but him + Dobbins created so many wide open receivers that it's tough to gauge how good of a passer he really is with all those receivers running wide open. Excited to watch him play this year.
If we take a QB with our pick, I'd love to land Wyatt Davis with the Seahawks pick. Then get playmakers on day 2. If we get Fields, then what better skill position player to get than Chris Olave.
It would make sense but Olave reminds me a lot of Ted Ginn. Skinny burner who made his living running wide open down field. I like TJ Vasher a lot. He's better than his production indicates. He's worked with a backup quarterback for all of last year and half of the year before. He's the X receiver we need to compliment Mims running down the field. His question is going to be hip fluidity and separation in the NFL.
