We could probably just as easily win a meaningless game or 3 with Gase as HC and still wind up missing out on Lawrence.
I have never in my life been in favor of tanking. For the first time maybe ever, I'm rooting to lose until Gase gets fired. We can't progress as a franchise until he's gone. The day he's gone, I go back to rooting for wins. So if he's gone Friday morning, I'm rooting for a week 5 win.
Remember we did that last few years, lost out on bosa, and had to give up 2nd rounders for Darnold, etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yes, the Jets always find a way to screw up. There are no ways to guarantee the #1 pick. It's hard to achieve.
Indeed, and let us never forget who hired Mac, our clueless ownership under the advise of the worst ever “over the hill, out of touch with NFL reality” duo of incompetent and extremely expensive consultants or more appropriate clueless assholes ever.
Agree with your comments. I’m ok with JD and we need a stabilizing force right now. He, however, must be empowered to pick the next HC and keep ownership out of the loop.
That's actually a much better point than I would have given it credt for at the beginning. I was ready to scoff. lol But "good" coaches don't only thrive with A-plus talent. An argument could be made that ANYONE can thrive if everything is perfect. You may have just made an argument as to why Gase is a LOUSY coach!
Yep! Better days are ahead, because it is hard to get worse! Yeah, I just mean I will have to take a wait and see approach with the team from now on. This year I was sure they would be better, so getting burned again in an epic way is tough. I tried to give Gase a chance when many others just trashed him 24/7. Looks like those people were right in the end. Now we hope that the next Head Coach hired will be the correct one. Otherwise, the cycle continues.....
10/1 Thursday is a Full Moon and Gase is definitely going down..By Friday morning the real Joe Douglas era begins
Hmmm, maybe radio - you can't watch the guy. Did anyone notice in Darnold's press appearance after yesterday's game he is picking up the wild eye movement thing and mumbling?
The Jets are a marketing based team. They over-sell everything and then get left holding a bag full of nothing for the efforts. Under promise and over deliver is what works. The Jets tend to over promise and under deliver and then get bent over and punished for it.
So Gase is yet another example of young HCs who got fired in one place and immediately went somewhere else and failed. I believe anyone else who ever had success went somewhere else first as a coordinator before taking another HC job.
not really the pats coordinators have not been high level nfl players have they? Eric Bieniemy played 9 yrs in the nfl before working his way up through the ranks he knows how to practice and take care of his body to have a long good career He started coaching running backs in college (Colorado and UCLA) and then went to the pros (Running back coach for the Vikes)and went back to college as an OC (back to Colorado). If his only experience as an OC was with Reid I would have concerns but after being an OC for three yrs he was hired by Reid as a running back coach and then promoted. So he has been around for awhile coaching in different places. Where as the coordinators from The cheators only seem to have been Coordinators there. To me he checks a few things, been on a winning staff, Offensive minded been around players as a player and a coach. The players should respect his practices as he knows what it takes to have a long career in the NFL and should respect his play calling even if the duty is shared.
