ROFLMAO! What utter nonsense. It's well known that Edge rushers can take 2-3 years to develop, especially when they have to get used to standing up vs having a hand in the dirt. DT or 3-4 DE does not take longer to develop. That's ridiculous!
I've supported my statement with evidence. Please support yours. The elite edge rushers in this game are usually pretty damn good from the start. TJ Watt, Chandler Jones, both of the Bosa's, Von Miller, Bradley Chubb, Myles Garrett, etc. That's not to say edge rushers can't develop, but they usually have a little less of a learning curve because they have more developed pass rushing moves and run stopping is less of a need for them to focus on.
Quinnen goes up against a good Guard today In Nelson and is a complete ghost. He didn’t even sniff the QB today. This is why you don’t make these ridiculous threads after finally have one good game. Until we see some consistency from this guy, you look foolish talking this guy up.
I don't need to support anything. Anyone who has been watching the NFL for 10 years knows what I'm saying is correct and what you're saying is nonsense.
I thought you didn't watch games? Support your position as I did mine or else you're just blowing smoke.
He didn't play good against Nelson at all. But he blew Kelly up every time he faced him. I'm not really sure why Greg Williams thought it was a good idea to drop Q back into zone coverage THREE different third downs in the first half vs. a 17 year veteran in Rivers but that points moot. Quinnen Williams did not have a good game today. The only Jet that really did is Berrios unfortunately. And he should be a salesman not a #1 NFL receiver. To be fair, Nelson is the best guard in the NFL without much competition for the spot.
That's what you get for doing something you don't normally do...think. I've watched tons of the NFL. I haven't been able to see Jets games very often since I moved back south, but have watched other games, and I know enough about football to know that what you said is utter BS. I don't give a shit if you agree with me or not. You're just making yourself look dumb with stupid comments like you made.
LOL. Ok. So you still don't watch Jets games but you talk about them all week long like you do based on reading some articles. I'll just chalk it up as you being unwilling to put the time and effort in to support your point. That's cool. Carry on.
I didn't see Quinnen Williams yesterday. Did he play and not do anything or did he walk off with an injury like everyone else?
Week 3 update for these two. Quinnen Williams 7 tackles 6 assists 2 sacks 1 forced fumble 123 defensive snaps Josh Allen 2 tackles 2 assists 1 sack 135 defensive snaps
Week 4 update for these two. Allen had his best game of the year against the Bengals recording 2 tackles and a sack. He also drew two holding penalties which is good hidden production. Q had two tackles and an assist. Quinnen Williams 9 tackles 7 assists 2 sacks 1 forced fumble 173 defensive snaps Josh Allen 4 tackles 2 assists 2 sacks 193 defensive snaps
There are no moral victories and he doesn't get credit for the sack he did have because of the penalty - but Williams again played a good game last week. He's our only pass rushing threat. He needs to get himself conditioned better to play more snaps. We need a big McLendon style nose tackle next to him as well that can play more effective snaps than McLendon can. Williams is a 3T who can push the pocket. He should never line up with his nose on the center like he's had to for most of the start of his career.
This right here. Quinnen is a monster the first play he comes in. He might even blow up a double team. The second play he can handle his own against a DT but not much more. The third play he doesn't even require a DT. Then the hand comes up to come out of the game. Its not just up to Q to condition himself. Our practices should be conditioning the DL because Q isn't the only one who shows this. I know Greg Williams likes to rotate but it almost feels like they do no conditioning in practice. A DT should have enough stamina for at least 3 solid plays in a row. Its such an easy fix. I mean, come on Greg. Whip these dudes into shape already.
Another brilliant pick by Macc who clearly had no idea what the team needs were. EDIT: The good news is that his weapons charge was dropped.
Quinnen probably has at least 4-5 sacks taken either by roughing the passer penalites/Facemask penalties and missing the the Qb when he does get a free shot at him in the last 2 years alone. If he can clean some of that up, you would see all these numbers balloon.
