There is nothing on either side of the ball to be worth mentioning on this team, what dies Gregg Williams have to work with? It's laughable that people think, changing a coach would do anything for this team, they are stock piled with mediocre talent at best.
This defense reminds me of something my grandmother used to say, "a day late and a dollar short"... on every single play. Let's be honest though, our defense was good against bad teams last year. They were run over when we played the Ravens and Patriots. More of the same this year, good teams will bulldoze them.

No. We were a top ten defense because we played against bottom feeding teams. We were horrible against good teams like the Pats and Ravens. Jamal or no Jamal, it was all smoke and mirrors.
The defense still lacks a pass rush or run stop on the defensive line. back in the Rex Ryan era... we had Wilkerson, Harrison and Richardson.
This defense lacks a pass rush, corners that cover, linebackers that can cover or tackle And d lineman that can play more than 2 snaps in a row.
2 reasons that have been mentioned, we played a really really easy schedule last year. it was a 13-3 schedule for a really good team. we managed 7-9, and jamal adams is a really really good football player who really fit what gregg williams wants to do. we have also had quite a few late hits, roughing the qb type of penalties this year, im fairly confident that williams while not outwardly rewarding guys for injuring the other team has made them aware of the fact he will take 15 yards for roughing guys up.

And to think, this illustrious defense was built on 1st Rounders, with ten of last twelve Jet 1st Round selections being defensive players. Having to rebuild both OFF and DEF units at same time is absolutely brutal. You're talking about a decade of gross negligence to get to this point. Compound that with a young QB who has done little to convince the faithful he will be more than just another 1st Round bust and a Head Coach who has just been plain busted for his cluelessness. Good times in JetLand for sure.

Isn’t dessair supposed to be decent? Too bad the monogloid Q isn’t gonna be any good. If you look at Williams historically, defenses do well for 1-2 years, then he gets run outta town. “His act wears thin”, think we’re there. On the other side, the beauty of having these lousy players is it doesn’t matter if they’re sick of him, they’re gonna get cut too. So if we can get the next HC to take him, I’m fine with him staying.
