Agree, but you can also look at it with the understanding that our voice still does matter and it has made an impact. Which is all any of us could have asked for
Agree 100%. I guarantee you in his statement you will see him mention Joe Douglas and him to make the next decision on a head coach
No, I was saying the opposite. Like he may have learning disabilities. Yeah, that is true. We all want our team to succeed and Gase has not helped with that at all. Time to find someone who will.
You can only hope. That’s really the best case scenario. I know I’m putting the cart before the horse here but hopefully the elevate Jim Bob Cooter and let him run the show for the rest of the season. His offenses in Detroit were always pretty productive and I think the styles of Darnold and Stafford are pretty similar. I think he could not only make the team better now but an option moving forward as well.
If those reports are true though, in typical Jets fashion, they will beat the Colts and Broncos and prolong this.
Not to mention the 'inside noise' from McDougald and Avery although they both backtracked and said they didn't mean the whole bad practices critique as a coaching slap.
A lot of it is going to depend on how we win the game if we even win either of them. If The narrative in the media is still that it’s very obvious Darnold’s development is being stunted by Gase, I think they make a move either way. If Sam comes out dealing and we put up 30 points and win both games I think someone as dumb as Chris Johnson would probably say “see its fine“
Its pretty bad when there's so much apathy in the fanbase that no one even shows up to protest how much the team sucks...
I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the players have gone to Douglas and told him that they want Gase gone, or at least have strongly complained about him.
That could have had an impact. I'm sure the marketing people are paying very close attention to what public perception of the Jets is, what the media is saying, and especially what the fanbase is saying. They could laugh at the fact that fans tried to organize a protest and it failed miserably, but then again, they could see that as apathy and that they're losing their fanbase, and it could have an impact.
They have a lot of pride or they wouldn't be NFL calibre players. I bet CJ's public endorsement of the Genius was understood in the locker room, but not well received. If WE'RE sick and tired of the consistent losing, you can imagine what these guys really feel. Especially looking at how things turned out for JA after he was "exiled" to a winning organization.
https://www.si.com/nfl/jets/news/new-york-jets-adam-gase-report-hot-seat-week-3 Its possible Gase could be fired tommorow if we get blown out again...Lets hope..
With 2 games this week. I imagine if (when?) the Jets quit on him in both games, he will be gone next Monday. But with 2 games this week I feel like they can’t let him go after today.
