You'd appreciate this, plink. Reading through this thread, I had a spooky flashback. We had this exact same discussion with Jeaux last year. And the year before that. And the year before that. And the year before that. And the year before that.
Jeaux why do you continue to do this to yourself? I've never come across such an wretched masochist in all my years of spanning the internet. After all the predictions that have fallen by the wayside, the preposterous and irrational expectations you've placed on that lamentable band of misfits of yours. You just keep plugging away, how do you do it man? More importantly, why do you do it? Is it just some form of therapeutic release, a cry for attention, or can it just be denial -- I personally don't think so. Can you even explain it yourself, or does that voice inside your head forbid it?
Just face it Raiderjoe the raiders suck. You make everyone on the Raiders sound like their friggen pro bowlers with your 5 paragraph essay on their offense and defense. You guys are 2-12 for a reason. YOU SUCK! Your gonna guys are gonna be like the skinny white guy in jail on New Years Eve who gets raped by the big black guy named Bubba(Jets).
Again if you look at my predictions. How long was I preaching Raiders defense. I told anyone that would listen that that defense was going to be something special, just had to upgrade some positions(IE LB) Well alot of people laughed about that and I don't see alot of people laughing anymore. YEs Raiders been horrible the last four years but being that bad does has it benefits. Drafting Early and often they been able to build that defense. Raiders start the youngest defense in all of football and by next year could be the best defense in all of football. How many on here told me defenses win Championships. Well I sure hope your right. YEs so despite the record IM escatic about Raiders future. That side of the ball(defense is pretty much set) and Raiders do have alotmoney(roughly 32 million) , drafting very early and due to trades and compensation will have extra picks. Fixing the offense is very doable this offseason. It all come down to The oC. Yea you can have your YO Yo seasons. It like YO yo diets. They don't work. Due to a favorable schedule, Jets are fighting for playoffs. Are they that good. I don't think so. This gives there fan base unrealistic expectations for next year. with next years schedule(alot harder), Jets are going to take a big step back. NOW Jets are fighting for playoffs also in 2007, I will admit i was wrong. This is just me, The goal should be winning Chamionships not just being good enough to squeek into playoffs(didn't alot of fans on here kill Miami fans for that for years) Again Raiders will win a championship before the jets will.
Again lets see what happens with Shell first. (Can't make a change if he still there) Alot OF Raider fans hope Shell does the right thing and resigns to a position in the front office.(citing poor health as the reason) YES Bobby Petrino will be the leading candidate for the Raiders(as long as M lombardi Raiders GM), along with Rob Ryan(raiders DC). Lets see what happens.
NO I gave plenty of reasons for this. Just reread threads wherev I talk in detail. Im not going to rehash previous posts, because everyone should know my position by now. Raiders are the fourth defense in all of football and unlike the Dolphinhs played alot harder teams. I shouldn't have to argue the Raiders defense because if your a football fan, you should know how good that defense is. Again people who make their liven off watching game tape. Have said the same thing Raiders defense is very very good. The Tape dosen't lie. Im telling you Pennington and Jets are going to have alot tougher time against raiders defense than dolphins. BTw Here a little exerpt. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thomas Howard, OLB, Oakland: The only good thing about the Raiders this season is their defense, and Howard, a second-round pick out of Texas-El Paso, is a major reason for that success. The son of former NFL linebacker Thomas Howard, Sr., the younger Howard brought great speed to a defense that struggled to field playmaking linebackers in the past. It's hard to measure him just by his numbers (he has 75 tackles this year) because what he gives the Raiders is hope. The Raiders have a number of talented young defenders -- including middle linebacker Kirk Morrison, rookie safety Michael Huff and cornerbacks Fabian Washington and Nnamdi Asomugha -- and with Howard breaking out in his first season, this should be a dominant unit in years to come. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...rookies/1.html Here some more. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oakland Raiders cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha might miss out on the Pro Bowl this year and the biggest reason is because he is on a team that is currently 2-12. Never mind that he is the No. 1 shutdown corner on the top-rated pass defense in the NFL. Asomugha is a former first-round pick form the 2003 draft, so the light admittedly should have come on by now. It didn't until this season, but now that it has a case could be made for Asomugha being the second-best man-to-man cover corner in the league. That's a pretty bold statement, but consider this: the Raiders play about 95 percent man coverage, meaning Asomugha is on an island by himself on nearly every play. He has rarely been beaten this season, rarely gets safety help over the top and already has a career-high seven interceptions. Asomugha has been so dominant in recent weeks that teams are starting to give him the "Champ Bailey treatment". By that, I mean that teams are avoiding his side of the field entirely, as they do with Bailey, who I consider the best man-to-man cover corner in the NFL. Cincinnati WR Chad Johnson does not hand out compliments very often, but he called Asomugha one of the best corners he faced this season. I don't know if he will get he nod, but I will say this: if Nnamdi Asomugha does not get a Pro Bowl invite he will have been flat-out robbed.
Again I had this conversation with you and explain where you are wrong. Lets try a shorter version this time. Remember when the jets had the fifth ranking rush defense. Than they played all the AFc West teams and those rush number went down the toilet.(been going down ever since) News Flash playing in the AFc west your going to give up some rushing yards. Thats what happens when you see L tomlinson and L Johnson twice a year. Those two get enough chances and they are going to break one. Raiders Offense ineffectiveness is giving them numerous chances. Raiders have faced four of the top five rushers in the league. L tomlinson, L Johnson, F Gore, and Pittsburgh RB . Your defensive time of possessin is the stat that tells how well the raiders defense is playing. Again Check out Raiders plus minus turnover ratio. IF The offense keeps turning the ball over and the defense has to keep coming out to stop the opposition. Its amazing that they are fourth ranked in defense . Look up defenses that have a high time of possesin on the field. A Majority are near the bottom of the league, not the top. Again go look up L Tomlinson numbers last time he faced Raiders they don't look bad. The fact is Raiders shut him down. Just after the defense really wore down, that he broke one. Easy to prove look at play by play of that game at NFL.com I can't wait till raiders D shutdown the Jets offense. Than we will hear how Jets were looking past the Raiders. LMao BTW Your Colts run defense comparison to Raiders run defense is a joke. Just like all your posts. (I guess thats you rep because I don't see most knowlegable poster) Couple Facts. Colts are giving UP 5.4 yards per carry . JEts 4.6 per carry and raiders 4.0 Thats with Raiders face much tougher running backs. Want to debate that one. Also look at how many running atempts teams have agaisnt raiders. When your looking at total Yards don't you think more chances = more a chance that your total yards is going to be higher. Again You take a stat and don't apply it evenly. You onl;y want the one that going to make your point look good. Want to continue. NEXT.
Ultimately, Jeaux you forget that it's not the yards at the end of the game that matters. It's who has higher score.
If the Jets are in a position to make the playoffs with a win over the Raiders, they will not look past them. Just another absurd statement by you, Joey.
The Raiders maybe have one good game left in them. If so, it will be tonight at home against their arch-rival. It will not be on the road on the other side of the country on New Year's Eve.
Damn Jeauxseph. You have a couple more days before you are supposed to be pounding the eggnog man.
Joe-When your team averages 11 points per game the offensive game plan against the Raiders is to make sure the QB doesn't fumble the snap and the handoff on the off tackle run isn't fumbled. Teams don't need to do anything against the Raiders other than not fumble in their own territory. Nobody is trying to get yards against the Raiders because they don't need them to beat the Raiders.
Easy because Raiders have a dominant defense that only going to get alot better in time. (look at there starting defensive team and there ages) Jets are not a top team on offense or defense. more a product of their schedule. I predict Jets won't finish .500 next year. That happens it will validate my point. JEts are fighting for playoff spot next year than I was wrong.
Okay MIke Francesa. Do you know its plagerism to take someone words and try to pass them off as your own. Raiders are winning both games. First KC goes down , than its the Jets turn the following week. Than it every excuse in the book. Someone going to be giving 20 bucks to this site and it won't be me.
What the f--- are you talking about? Nowadays I cannot even watch that show or listen to it because of work. You are absolutely going to get killed by me on this site if the Jets beat the Raiders. It's just not going to be pretty.
