I've seen them in the mall, just this week. The only week of the year you'll catch my ass in a mall, BTW. Horrible. I've seen black Devils ones too, which I know is against the wishes of the Great Lou.
Yes they are sold. Modells has them, as does Sports Authority. They're also sold at Jets games at the stands near the loop-de-loops going into the stadium. They're still fugly. You can barely see the green against the black. If they really wanted a black jersey, they should trim it in white. Have the main part of the jersey be black, with green strips and number outlined in white pinstripes. It would still look fugly though. And yes, the black devils jersies not that nice either, but at least black and red are a good color combo. The red stands out enough against the black.
How about we go to the Old jets jerseys with the JETS on the Helmet, i would absolutely love that i love them
Bleh, the change to the current jerseys in '98 or whatever was much needed in my eyes. Those jerseys remind me too much of the loser teams of the past. Our current jerseys (white/white or green/white) are some of the classiest in football IMO.
Loser years they may be. However I would LOVE to get an old 1995 jets Chrebet Jersey. They had a great early 90's look to them. I wish they would make them up. It's the only style of our team to never be reissued as a throwback.
If we do that, we will not only lose the game, we will lose it in the most unforseen, gut wrenching, ridiculous fashion ever imagined and it would live in infamy until the end of time.
I don't get hung up on jersey colors and think throwbacks are ridiculous (teams change uniforms for a reason, usually because the new ones are nicer than old ones), but I absolutely despise the green pants. I would love the see the Jets wear white with white on Monday.
I'm okay with the eighties/early nineties version, before the black trim. They were pretty clean and classic, and the version most of the best players I grew up watching wore: Walker, McNeil, Todd, Klecko, Gast; etc. I wouldn't mind seeing those sometime.
Off topic, but green pants related: Anyone see Oregon in the Las Vegas Bowl? OMFG, those were the worst uniforms I think I've ever seen. You just cannot play well when you look like that. And they didn't.
Just showed Chad in the pre-game, looks like all white jerseys tonight (it looked like the pants were white, only showed the top half).
