They are missing two starters on the OL tonight. LV is winning because they have a coach that can coach and a GM that surrounded his QB with talent.

I figured the first four games would be a wash while the O line builds chemistry and continuity. It takes at least that long to begin to become a cohesive unit.
However, the team that showed up on Sunday looked like they knew they were defeated before they even took the field and that's a very bad sign.

Payton using Kamara and Montgomery on the field at the same time. Revolutionary.

Payton often uses two RB's at the same time. Kamara is used a ton on screens and such. Big time weapon out of the backfield.

Gase also revealed the game plan was to get the ball out quickly of Sam's hands due to their pass rush and the fact that they dont allow big chunk plays at all last year. I think between that and they lost Perriman, its tough to take big shots when your skill positions are beat up

Remember this?? And we tool Gase..,,,,

McCarthy is the best, proven HC on the market undoubtedly. That doesn't necessarily mean he is the best though. McCarthy is the safe option, I think everyone realises that. He instantly ticks the main boxes on the Jets' wishlist - he's developed a QB (a great one, who just happens to have similar traits to Darnold, at that) and he's won. He would bring instant credibility to the team. The problem with him is all the 'like to have' boxes he doesn't really tick at all, apart from being offensive. His O hasn't developed with the times, he doesn't have the charisma to revitalise the franchise, he's a poor in game coach and he really is just a one side of the ball man.

With McCarthy you get a Darnold who likely maximises his potential and likely chance of being fairly competitive for a few years and maybe even winning something. Maybe that's the best option and maybe it's enough. It really is a pick your poison choice. The perfect candidate isn't out there. It never is, but some coaches develop into that perfect guy. That's not McCarthy though, what you see is what you get with him.

Do you have link? I don't remember reading anything from him. I just remember Jordan Jenkins comments as ones that stuck out to me.

    Bradley McDougald
Everyone should listen to him. He just came from a SB contender with a HOF coach.

That quote should end Gase but they won't. It's awful.

And he’s likely talking about the defense.

Do you think that Williams is ticked because the Jets traded Adams and is just mailing it in? Do you think he's mailing it in because he knows how incompetent Gase is and the team doesn't have a chance of winning? What do you think is the issue with the D this year?

Gase has completely lost control of everything.

    He needs to go. Immediately.

He is. But they don't practice entirely separately. And this is a comment you look for the sixth day of camp where everyone jag assing around because it's hot, you just starting hitting in pads and your body is tired for the first time in months.

He just made that comment after six+ weeks of practice and two games.

And to be fair - teams have bad practices. It's usually isolated to a day or two a week at most and a team that's locked in will have a full week of great practices. Sounds like ours have pretty much all been shit.

I just heard on Fox Sports radio that Sam thinks Gase is a great coach and that his plays and play calling are great. He said that it was on the players to execute, that they just hadn't been executing and that's why the plays haven't worked. The announcer laughed and said that Sam just admitted to the whole world that he stinks and that his teammates stink. I would add that if Sam really thinks that Gase is a great coach and that his plays and play calling are great that he is pretty dumb and not the answer at QB, and we probably will be looking to draft a new QB. I also add that if he truly thinks Gase isn't the problem or at least part of the problem, then I want Sam to fail so we can move on.

How many times have you heard a 3rd year quarterback with 11 career wins come out and say the coach blows and he should be sent packing? How many times have you heard it in general with any QB about his coach?

I'm hoping that he's just being a professional and not trashing his HC publicly. With some of his decision making on the field, however, I don't have confidence that he didn't mean what he said.
