Sorry to kind of invade the turf here a bit Dino, but I've been dying to have at rajensen (aka Cinvis) sinvce he disappeared from JN the moment we won more games than he predicted all year
When I first heard that song I thought it was a Kelly Rowland song. Later, I found out it is a Beyonce Knowles song.
I had to laugh at this. In our house, we call him "Stupid Herm." Always. His first name is Stupid. His last name is Herm. Also, Chipper Jones is Larry Jones, but that's another story.
My two cents? Just for the record I was a Herm supporter?Anyway, First of all last year the Jets were killed w/injuries. Does anyone really think Mangini would have done a better job? Thank god CHAD P. is healthy this season!!! Again, it?s the ?what have u done for me lately? attitude around this site that everyone had with Herm E. As far as Magini, I personally like the guy. And I hope he does a better job then Herm E. 1) playoffs three times 2) two playoff wins 3) division title As a long time Jets fan, I think HE brought to the JETS such an optimistic, positive mindset that he definitely made watching the Jets enjoyable again. HELL, HE WAS THE ONLY GUY THAT WANTED TO BE THE HEAD COACH OF OUR TEAM!!! He was the best we have seen for quite a few years as a head Coach for the Jets. After all, Tuna didn't get there either? Let's take a look at the other coaches for the Jets? Rich Kotite. Kotite actually had a fair career as a coordinator and was a likable and tough guy. But let's face it. Compared to Kotite Dave Wannstedt looks like a cross between Vince Lombardi and John Wooden. Bruce Coslet, was too smart for his own good. He was a bad evaluator of talent. His teams always looked shell-shocked. High point was one 8-8 playoff appearance, thanks to Raul Allegre. Bill Belichcik. Was our coach for about 5 minutes, but by default that puts him ahead of Kotite and Coslet. Pete Carroll. The perfect rah rah college coach, not well suited to the pros. Hess didn't give him enough of a chance, though. Al Groh. He had a winning record. But missing the playoffs after a 6-1 start. Joe Walton. His teams always faded and he should have done more with the great talent his teams had. But he did put together some good years. For a while, the Jets were an elite team. Bill Parcells. I?m sure that everyone liked is coaching style? He was the great one. He took the team to the AFC championship game. Unfortunately, he didn?t take the Jets to the BIG GAME. I put herm between Bill and Joe? I think Herm was okay. Most importantly, I think he was getting better (That?s just my opinion). Believe me, I felt a lot better with him strolling the sidelines then I did with some of the other morons who have graced our team as head coaches. Anyway, it?s time to move on! GO JETS!!! GO Mangini!!! I?m hoping he?s the next great one that will take the Jets to the BIG GAME! Back to your regular programming? Peace out.
I do not agree he was getting better. He peaked in 2002. I was not fond of his performance in 2004. I was disgusted with the Jets going 10-6. I never thought the day would come where 10-6 would disgust me considering this team's less than stellar history.
Herm should be fighting for home field advantage with all the talent he has in KC (LJ, Tony Gonzalez, Trent Green, Dante Hall) instead he will be watching the Jets in the playoffs at home on the couch. I think we have a great future with Mangini and im really looking foward to it.
Yeah, the fact that the Jets had two chances to win the game with the stinking Steelers! Which put a lot of Jets fan in a funk with the decision making of Herm E. Damn, that loss was painful. Anyway, I?m sure he felt it was the right decision at that point in time. If Mr. Brien would have made that field goal we wouldn?t be discussion this BS -- That?s the life of a Jets fan. Hopefully things will change! Peace out.
The Steelers should be playing for home field advantage as well with all their talent! What's your point? Nevermind....
How many KC games have you seen this year? Did you see what his players are now saying about him? Maybe you should rethink & retract your post.
First of all, my post was my opinion. I did not feel Edwards was improving as a head coach. What is it exactly you say I should rethink and retract regarding Edwards' performance as the Jets coach from 2001-05? And what the f--- do the 2006 Chiefs have to do with what Edwards did from 2001-05?
why? in 2002 vinny got hurt and chad came in for him. i used to ask all the time, how in the world was he still on the bench while vinny played so poorly? he refused to play the best player because he never wanted to hurt a vets feelings, imo.
I was irate in the latter half of the 2001 season when Edwards did not remove Testaverde for Pennington. It should not have mattered that the Jets had a winning record. Look at what Mike Shanahan did this year with his QBs.
That he was good in 02 IMHO he was never good he was the same all though his coaching stint with us. Just plain average. If you saw any KCC games this year you would have seen that he is coaching exactly the same way he coached us
I missed the entire Chiefs-Browns game. Other than that, I watched all of the Chiefs games- either portions of them or their entirety. He has made some ridiculous in-game decisions. Yes, he is still coaching not to lose.
Great so we are on the same page then. Ah to bad you missed the end of the Browns game to see what his what the f**K is going on here looks were. It was worth my entire DTV expense to see them
