Bills simply outplayed us. Allen outplayed Darnold. Gase was out coached. Bills are a good and solid team. Jets are still ways to go. Let’s wait for the next 5 games to see where they are.
I have to agree with BB6 on this. This is now the 2nd game where Josh Allen has single handedly destroyed the Jets and all our board does is rag on him. If he cleaned up a few sloppy mistakes this would have been a blowout of epic proportion. I'm a big and loyal Darnold supporter but I have to admit towards the end of this game starting to daydream/wonder just how much worse off things would be if we'd drafted Josh Allen and kept all those 2nd round picks to support him with.
Sam being good or bad won’t change the fact that Allen is not a good qb. I’ve never seen a good qb miss a wide open receiver by as much as Allen does. He’s lucky the Bills are loaded with talent.
Well, fuck, I said this week the key for us to keep it close was a solid running game and a big dosage of twin TE formations. Buffalo played the run tight and we didn’t adjust shit. Bad play calling, strike that, horrific offensive play calling plus poor execution nearly across the board.
I was wrong. The Jets were embarrassing. Congrats to all of the Bills fans. I felt insulted when people kept picking them to blowout the Jets, but that is exactly what happened despite the 27-17 score. Sam Darnold looked awful. Can't make any excuses for him, but I can say that I expect him to bounce back and play better. Josh Allen played exactly as I expected. Some terrible throws, 2 lost fumbles, but some nice passes and nice runs too. I'd like to see him play against his own defense. It wouldn't be pretty. Marcus Maye looked good. Braden Mann looks like a good punter. That is all the positives I can think of right now. Move on to Week 2 against a desperate 49ers team...............
The lack of talent is glaring but the terrible coaching is even worse. Gase should have been fired at halftime.
I never got why we didn't resign robby anderson. He and darnold seemed to click. That moved has Gase's stench all over it. We could have used him today.
But the Jets had two years of useless drafts under McCagnan and are short on talent. By your logic, they are about 2 years behind the Bills.
Oh I am SO glad I went fishing instead of subjecting myself to this crap! My new approach is to simply check the score every so often (if I'm not doing anything more worthwhile, like cutting the lawn or washing dishes), and watch and wait until Gase is fired. At that point, maybe I'll tune in to see how they do. This team isn't worth the time, energy, emotion, and aggravation I've expended up until now. When they change, and get serious about putting a winning team together - one based on offense! - then I'll think about becoming more involved. Until then, that "shadow" you see every once in a while is me lurking.
Reminder this team had no pre season, and the team has tons of new starters. New team+No Preseason+Covid= Top 5 pick in Draft? I didnt watch the game, I was able to listen on radio. It seemed as if we couldnt stop hurting ourselves. That's a sign of a bad team, or a new team learning to play together, or possibly a combo of both Let's hope this game was a fluke and we play better next week.
You can hope in one hand and crap in the other... see what gets filled first. We might lose by 30 next week. We are a bad team.
A smart strategy! I waited months to watch the Jets, and it was literally the worst 3 hours I have had in a long time. That includes living in a pandemic and being in a car accident recently.
We may have choose the wrong QB but I'd rather have traded down and not up and taken Jackson instead or has a fine fellow keeps telling me not Adam's and take Mahomes at 6 sigh.
The dark side is flowing through you. Only a matter of time my friend. Soon, your optimism will die and you will be one with the dark side.
If they keep playing like they did today, you will be right! I think they can turn it around and look better though. We will see. Definitely less optimistic after that effort. It really was brutal.
that is down to the coaching and GM - if Allen was on this team he would be worse than Darnold (or certainly no better) Bills have a top 5 defense, we have a bottom 10 defense, Bills have an average O-line, we have a bottom 5 O-line, Bills have a top tier WR in Diggs, the Jets don't have a single WR that cracks the top 50 - you must be a Bills fan to view Allen as being sensational at QB
Look it is one thing to have one or two changes in the Offensive line, but the Jets have totally new players with very little NFL experience. Add Covid 19 factor and this is a big disadvantage. The Jets do not represent a typical NFL team with changes in the Oline.
