I am beyond thrilled to have football back. I don’t even care that we are probably going to get annihilated, I just want it on my screen. I can’t see this going well at all… The bills defense is fantastic and their offense has had way more time to gel. And by way more time, I’m talking years in some instances. The only hope we have is Josh Allen being Josh Allen.

COVID Has rusted out most teams in NFL..giving Defenses something of an advantage with QB and receivers lacking practice

That said Buffalo would normally gain a huge advantage here based on personnel experience and coaching

So instead of a 27 -14 loss the Jets go to a respectful 17-13 defeat

The first month of Jets FQB is Biils 49ers Colts and Broncos ..2 are definitely winnable but not the other 2 imo

Hoping however to be pleasantly surprised but we all know how that goes ...

As I recall , no Fans in the Stadium? If so perhaps not so much home field advantage? Plus Buffalo / Indianapolis are not far away

I just can't imagine what the NFL experience is like in Turkey.

All I can think of is you hooting at the dusty RCA Victor TV sitting next to a pair of sleeping goats while you pass the hookah back and forth between you, the Iron Sheik and Sallah from Indiana Jones.

There's also the optional random silk-laden prostitute with a huge brown mole on her face lurking nearby.

    Disclosure: I'm a Bills fan.

I think the Bills will win by two scores next Sunday. The Bills are bringing just about the entire team back intact which will be especially important this year with no real pre-season. The Jets have a new O-Line that will be improved but needs time to gel and will face a top three defense Week 1. I expect a lot of quick passes from Darnold to Bell, Crowder and Herndon to try to negate the pass rush. (I drafted Herndon and Crowder in my fantasy football draft this year, I think they are going to have a lot of production). Mosely opting out hurts the middle of the Jets' defense this year. If Mosely hadn't been hurt during the second half of the Week 1 match up last year, I don't think the Bills come back to win that game.

I think Allen improved last year and he will improve again this year. His O-Line should be better. The Bills' running game should be better and now we have Diggs which should help the passing game. I'll put John Brown against any team's #2 CB all day everyday. Respectfully, people on this message board playing up Allen like he is an interception machine are simply off base. Allen had 9 interceptions in the regular season last year. Nine. I don't think he is throwing 3 picks next Sunday.

I think Joe Douglas is going to be a great GM and he will turn the Jets around quickly. I think Darnold is a real NFL quarterback. The Jets have some great pieces on defense and they are overhauling their terrible O-Line. I think the Jets are going to be better but the Bills have a two year head start on the rebuild. Gase will be gone next year and the Jets' head coaching job will be the most coveted in the NFL with a good GM, franchise QB in place, and plenty of draft picks and cap space to play with. I wouldn't be surprised to finally see McDaniels leave New England and take the job.

This season though, the Bills are clearly the better team and should be able to handle the Jets in their two games. Next year will be a different story.

This is all very accurate but I don’t think Allen is an INT machine, I think he’s a horrendous passer. Big difference.

I think the Jets get beat pretty bad, something along the lines of 31 -14.
Sam will play decent but getting down and forced to throw early and often will not bode well for us.

I am pretty sure we start 0 - 2 and could start 0-4 but probably 1-3.

    Hey Broadway

Allen should have a solid O-Line, one of the best WR corps in the League with Diggs, Brown, and Beasley, a serviceable running game, and it will be Allen's third year in the same system with the same coaches. If he doesn't get the job done this year it will be on him. He got significantly better over the course of last season, and was day and night better compared to his rookie year. Allen played JuCo and then went to Wyoming where he had no talent around him and no QB coaching. He was definitely not a polished passer like Darnold was coming out of the Draft. I think Allen continues to get better and will get there. I don't think Allen is at his ceiling. We'll all see this year.

    Allen stats;
    2018 (12 games) 12 INTs 2,274 yards Comp % 52.8
    2019 (16 games) 9 INTs 3,089 yards Comp % 58.8

    Only question I have is:
Will I be sober at the end of the game? Love my J E T S win or lose. And of course I hate Gase..

    No chance?!

Dude, your act is so stale. What was Adams overall record as a Jet? Exactly. Loserville. We've seen that last 3 years. He showed up against shitty teams vs rookie QBs. When it mattered, nothing. So shut up.

Oh, BTW worth noting....Jets won 7 games last year without Mosley.

I’m expecting the Jets to have a rough day. Darnold will be under constant pressure due to playing behind a brand new OL that features a rookie LT. Their first in-game reps together will be week one. I think that alone may be too much for the team to overcome.

It's easy to just look at the rosters on paper and assume the Bills are going to bitchslap the Jets next Sunday. The Jets always seem to be rebuilding and the Bills are playing moneyball.

Division games are always a crapshoot though, unless you are talking about the Pats who almost always whipped the Jets with Brady. There have been plenty of years where a shitty Jets team beat a good Miami or Buffalo team, and vice versa.

I'm going against logic here and picking the Jets. Sam Darnold is going to have one of those buzzworthy games that makes Colin Cowturd start beating his meat predicting the next great thing, and Allen is going to look like Allen.

There will be much pounding of chests and dreaming of Super Bowls on this forum for a week until the Jets have their lunch money taken by the 49ers in week 2.

    Very Jetsy stuff.

I was just talking about this with a buddy. The other East teams all are loaded at CB (White, Gilmore/Jackson, Howard/Jones) to the point where the Jets’ receivers would’ve struggled in those 6 games even if they didn’t suck. I wonder if that factored into the decision to build the passing game around the TEs/RB and slot WR.

Probably just homerism talking, but I think it creates interesting matchups.

I look at the Jets roster, see the lack of continuity on the offensive line, the seeming slippage in the play of Leavon Bell, the injuries to the Jets WR group and can’t see a Chris Herndon/Jamison Crowder focused offense doing much of anything in Sunday.

I just can’t see us winning any matchups at all. Offensively our new OL is going to get bullrushed and Sam is gonna have to hope someone slips free to make a play... problem is they have a great secondary too. Herndon is going to have to win every snap for us to have a chance. If we have to rely on the running game in week 1 with a new OL we aren’t gonna score many points.

Then flip the field... Allen is awful but Diggs and Brown are not. Bless is still young, Desir has practiced once and we won’t have the pass rush to force quick throws. Davis and Maye are gonna have to play their balls off.

Either way, I don’t think this is gonna be pretty. I dread this website a week from this very moment.

Good call except for one thing. Allen is awful even though he threw for more yards, more TD’s and less interceptions then Sam did last year. He has a better offensive line, better weapons and is playing complimentary football with an elite defense.

You are right, the board is not going to be a very happy place next Sunday at about 4:30 PM

It puts into perspective just how badly we’ve failed Darnold when you realize the BUFFALO BILLS have successfully built around JOSH ALLEN.

I don't understand why Buffalo is so overrated by people. They are a solid team, but to predict to be blown out by them doesn't make much sense to me. To assume they will run away with the AFC East makes no sense either. Did anyone even watch that Texans playoff game last year? I get they added Diggs and he is a good WR, but QB is important to me and Sam is better than Allen.
