We can all agree that we hope Fales never sees the field. We all know he's only here because he knows Gase.
Fuck! I have to hope this is the right decision. It's quite possible that there were thing about White's play in TC that weren't that great, and maybe Fales was better than the beat reporters reported. Then again, it could totally be about Gase's comfort with Fales since he has experience in the system and playing experience. If it is a matter of experience and familiarity with Gase's system rather than how well they played, I hope that the Jets plan to sign White to the PS and will be able to.
If Guidry has as much promise as I think he does, I hope the Jets will be able to retain him. He may be one of the 4 they can block. Hopefully, Cager will be another.
Salary Cap Savings: Jets add roughly 4.4 million to their cap by cutting Harrison and Hairston. No dead money on either contract! Possible ammunition for free agent signings?
@themorey is available. But really, we have almost too much cap space and there's not a ton of guys out there to sign at the moment. I'd like to see us extend Marcus Maye already. He's probably the only guy on the roster that's in the right spot to get an extension.
Seems like injuries have been the story (although I don't know that for sure). 22/48 possible games in 3 years and only 8 starts. 19th ranked pass defense - 2019, 30th ranked pass defense - 2018, 17th ranked pass defense - 2017 (rookie year though). So I have a feeling there's more to his story.
If we weren’t down to 4 healthy CBs I wouldn’t even read into it but we’re cutting Guidry, Hairston and Jackson so clearly Douglas thinks there will be help available on the wire.
Desir and Poole are healthy? If so they will likely start. Bless seemingly has a lock on the other starting corner. Wilson has done enough to get some PT. Not heard much from Maulet but the Jets seem to like him...Hall hasn't practiced much at all. I expect JD to nab one of the former Eagles CB's to join here. Guidry was a UDFA despite his blazing speed. He was doing decent in camp early on but I haven't heard much from him after. Nor have I heard anything on Jackson and Hairston. I do expect the 1st two at least 1 of them will hit the PS.
How did Shyheim Carter look in training camp? He was a good corner in college and we made him one of our most expensive UDFA signings.
Bless and Desir start outside. That leaves us with only Wilson and Maulet as their backups. And with the way Gregg Williams switches up personnel every two seconds I feel like there’s no way we go into the season with only four healthy CBs. Not counting Poole in the slot obviously.
Alshon Jeffrey is on the block, can't stay on the field though .https://www.profootballrumors.com/2020/09/eagles-shopping-alshon-jeffery Too much money and injured...
Hasnt practiced yet this season and is owed $9 mil. Unless Philly picks up some of the tab and is fine with a day 3 pick, no thanks.
