That arguement could further be countered with the simple statement that it goes both ways. So the AL is the more dominant of the two All-Star teams. Raw record shows that. Then there's always the clear statistic of wins vs. losses in the regular season. Exactly 3 teams had a .500 or better record in the NL against the AL. (Florida 9-9, San Fran 8-7, & Colorado 11-4.) Considering it was something that had never happened before, chances are, it won't be repeated. The chances of the Mets or Red Sox, who aren't well known for their post-season prowess having a chance to echo the performance are close to nill. But if you people are going to insist on bringing up the GYC all the time, you have zero right to complain when we respond with 26 time World Champions. History is written by the winners, and the Yankees have written far more history than the Mets and Sox combined. When you repeat THAT stat, then you can say whatever you want.
Im really not trying to get into this argument, but Id like to point out that it isnt just yankee fans that were saying the AL is way better last year...it was the entire baseball world..writeers, GM's yadda yadda....even that met shill toolbag ed coleman said it a lot last year. So lets at least be accurate when we make accusations
I agree with that, when a league is weak everyone knows it. Look at the NFC this year, everyone knows the AFC is much stronger, and you've got the interleague stats to back it up. Same thing in baseball last year, the NL for the most part sucked. It's not really a slight against the Mets either since they were one of the good teams, I don't see what's to get all bent out of shape about.
