I was wrong; it’s windy as hell now. Landfall to be right over us on the north grand strand.

Power out...I have one straight hour of video... transformers blowing up all over the place but power flinched 5 times but hung in there. Eye gets to within 15 miles...poof..no power. Have it on video. Like a bomb. Should be under the eye in next 15 minutes sitting out there... actually standing out there like an asshole for one hour thinking the eye any second now...should have stopped and checked radar.
Gusts had to be over 80 I'm thinking. Equal to Florence with wind speed...just will last about 7 hours less
Except for power all good right now.
Eye wall within 10 minutes I would think.

Wow. Stay safe my friend. I read your posts like horror movie. Did you get out of the storm fine? How are things now? Power back or no?

The whole grand strand had the 3rd worse surge on record. But went out as quick as it came in and the winds shifted quickly because the storm was so fast. Other than that, not too much here . But Between me and jay, the beaches of nc about 15 miles north got hit pretty hard. I think a gust of 105 was recorded, some house fires on ocean isle beach.

It is dead calm in NNW NJ right now. Not a breeze at all and heavy fog in the hills. It is very humid, but no wind whatsoever. It's a little too quiet.......... the calm before the storm...?

this is THE concern here on the island. don't think we'll get even an inch of rain but these hit and run f1 tornadoes and microbursts are gonna do some damage.

The storm track moved West as per the 11 am update.

I take that back. With the heavy rain and the wind direction - NNE? - it appears that we may be either directly in line or west of the path of the center. That is different from the NWS "cone"

Neighbors tree fell in my backyard. My backyard also has utility cables for, I assume, internet and phone that appear to be damaged. What to do? Asking for the owner of the house.

Some tree branches fell to my backyard but no big damage. Didn't lose power either and I hope it stays like this. Seems to be over. Phew!

Thanks @jaywayne12 for all the reporting you did. You rock. we love you man.

Massive power outages in the Hudson Valley.. it’s a mess, trees and wires everywhere. Running on generator power for the foreseeable future

I am very lucky in Fair Lawn, NJ ( Bergen County). We have a great power grid here. I didn't lose power for Sandy and I didn't lose it yesterday either.
