This hurts, but not the worst thing. Only one man effects the entire season. Defense can still be good enough.

Nah nothing in the history of GMs is as bad as the 2014 draft.

Not doomsday person. But it looks like we might be in play again for #1 draft pick the way things are going... in JD we trust the n building this roster.

The 2017 draft did an order of magnitude more damage to us than the 2014 draft did.

I've said it from the beginning, they should cancel this season.

They are talking about potentially canceling the baseball season already, and that's not even a contact sport.

If there is a spread of the virus on a team, what do you do in a 16 game season? How can you call any of the wins legitimate if players are opting out, or will likely get sick throughout the year.

This whole thing is ridiculous. I want football more than anything in the world, but it is physically impossible to have a successful year in a full contact sport

Nah you are just salty they didn't draft Mahomes....drafting Adams and Maye isn't the equivalent of drafting 12 guys who couldn't play in the league.

i don’t know how any sport can expect to have any chance of success without playing in a very controlled bubble.

Yup and no way you're keeping players away from their families for 6+ months.

Yup, MLB screwed up in that regard and it might lead to its season ending less than 2 weeks into it.

11 guys who couldn't play in the league, Enunwa was a good pick. Also, if you combine the 2015 and 2016 drafts, you get:

    R1: Leonard Williams, Darron Lee
    R2: Devin Smith, Christian Hackenberg
    R3: Lorenzo Mauldin, Jordan Jenkins
    R4: Bryce Petty, Juston Burris
    R5: Jarvis Harrison, Brandon Shell
R7: Deon Simon, Lac Edwards, Charone Peake

13 players, and only Jordan Jenkins is still on the Jets. That's 2014-level bad. Leo made a Pro Bowl, but he was the 6th pick in the draft, and our highest pick in 2014 was 18th.

Yeah MM was bad also but there's this weird fringe group of fans who think Idzik got a raw deal....MM was bad but Idzik was an embarrassment who is a punchline in NFL circles.

With CJ missing the bulk of last season its going to be 2 years away from the game. Then he comes back after a long break pushing 30 years old. I don't see him performing at the same level after all that. This is basically a bust for us both on the field and on the cap.

If we can get anything 2 or higher I say we trade him before the next draft.

Do not hold your breath on getting a 1st rounder, Jets would probably get a 2nd or 3rd rounder due to his age and contract

I'll take a second rounder over paying a huge contract that he will no longer be worth.

I doubt anyone will give up a second with everything going on. Besides next year his cap hit will be under $10mm

Not sure a trade would be the right way to go with Mosely. Even if it would be good to get something for him since he'll have played all of two games in two seasons on a big contract, it wouldn't do the Jets any favors in terms of their standing with players around the league, given that this is an opt-out for COVID-19. With the issues regarding disgruntled players, medical disputes, and the way that the Jets are seemingly viewed around the league anyway, shipping away a guy who has opted out of this season would be a bad look for the team, even if it would make sense from a contract/production standpoint.

Plus, as others have said, his cap number isn't terrible after this season and he should still be able to help out the defense next year.

I'm kinda there with you but if they don't have the season what happens to free agency, draft order, cap size, etc? I honestly think the NFL is pushing for the season bc they have no idea how to figure this stuff out of they don't

NFL should look at where the NBA is right now and where MLB is right now. A bubble is the only way to do it. Play an 8-10 game season in a bubble and consider yourself lucky if you can pull that off.
