I wish you’d stop posting on this site. Maybe at least 1 of our wishes will come true.

what pisses me off most about this is that I was really hoping with him back our D would show it was just fine without Jamal, but now its probably going to be pretty bad.

Russell is not going to opt out just to give Jets a better draft pick, that is wishful thinking

I do not blame Mosley or anyone for opting out, I would have done the same

That’s not at all why. The caveats of the opt out clauses vs the cancelled season clauses make a big difference financially for him.

He is pretty smart so he should be telling the Seahawks I want my contract restructured into a signing bonus or I’m opting out.

He stands to miss out on up to $17 million based on his current structure if the season is cancelled.

I don't either, especially given how much of a horror show this season is going to be across the league. Baseball hasn't been able to handle it well, and their is a sport that has, at least to some degree, social distancing built into it.

Good for him. Anybody in this country that is fortunate enough to be able to opt out of daily physical interaction with large amounts of people is doing the best thing in exercising that option...even though I desperately wanted to see him on the field this year.

I don't know how it works, but if he decides to sit out the season, he shouldn't be paid his contract. He is the one voiding his contract. He should also lose a year of accrued service.

If Cimini's right, that's awful. No way his contract should get pushed back another year, we shouldn't have to pay him one red dime, and he should have to replay the $10 million bonus he got in March.

Well it’s not like he’s getting more money somehow. Basically it’s just his 2020 cap charge split between 2020 and 2021. It hurts the Jets on the field this year but it actually helps the Jets next year.

Mosley signed a 5-year deal, meaning initially he would have been 32 in the last year of his deal. Now he'll be 33, and the Jets will have missed out on probably what would have been the best two years of the deal. He may be shot by 33. Heck for that matter, he could come back next year fat and out of shape. If our company didn't allow us to work from home, and we opted to sit out and not work, we wouldn't get paid a dime. IMO he shouldn't get paid a dime for sitting at home. I don't blame him for sitting out, but the Jets shouldn't have to pay for that. IMO that year should come off the contract, he should lose that money and the bonus, and that money should come off of the Jets' cap.

It was a stupid signing by Maccagnan to begin with. Along with Bell. Gross contracts at positions that you can find decent players at everywhere.

Maccagnan is probably the worst GM in NFL history.

I’m not saying I agree with it but this is what the owners agreed to unanimously.

The money of the NFL is just different from your job. And mine, I would just accept it if I were you. Making comparisons doesn’t make sense.

Besides, it’s not Mosley’s fault he got hurt last year, or his fault this is how Maccagnan agreed to structure his contract.

And he won’t come in fat. I’ll put money on that.

I agree but let's be real he's never seeing the money on the last 2 years....he should still be in his prime till 31.

CJ's groin will be good as new in 2021!

But will he still remember how to put his shoulder pads on?

No Maccagnan was much worse than Idzik. Idzik was just bad at drafting. Mac was bad at drafting, passed up three future Hall of Fame QBs, and wasted money left and right on bad FA signings.

Maccagnan got TWO free agency splurges and look where we are today. It's incomprehensible how bad that guy was at identifying talent.
